The Palmhouse (Palmiarnia) in Poznań is an astounding place. Probably the biggest complex of that type in Poland. First big greenhouse was built in 1910 under German partition, but next ones together with aquariums were erected in independent Poland. WW2 caused a 60% destruction of infrastructure and annihilation of all plants.
Today there are 10 greenhouses connected into one complex.

Apart from plants, there are also animals. Reptiles are in glass cages, but hens walk freely and you can handle them. You can also handle fish though the notice warns it is forbidden. But in Poland people do what they want because they are free...... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Not like in Germany.

I also have several palms, along with a large orange tree, and other large plants that spend the warm summer months out on my deck, and I bring in when it gets cold. I have grown oranges from my tree each year. I enjoy seeing how fast the plants grow. I am still trying to get a start or seeds, from a Linden tree, but it must be from Poland, since I have been told, by those who know, the ones from Poland are better.
The biggest problem I have is growing grass in the shade, under my tulip tree. I have spent much time and money and still it is not the way I want and need it to be. I have been told, it can't be done, well I am going to do it. Most of the area under this tree is growing, just some spots, and I will have this done to, I hope.
