I always thought that Poles loved seafood. At least the ones I grew up with. Being on the shores of the Baltic one would think seafood would be an item on their menus at home.
Love shrimp % prawns. The last photo - - is it clams or oysters?

Unfortunately, Polish waters are too cold to produce edible/eatable stuff other than fish and crayfish. Mules etc grow too small and tough here

No, no, they are simple mules or mussels, whatever you call them there in the States. I tried oysters but didn`t cook them, ate raw, fresh from the shell, yet wasn`t so fascinated with them.
So, Poles have two national traits - they love seafood and they think they are unique, incomparable to other Poles
Then you met or know special Poles because all my family and acquaintances who visit us, given a choice of dishes, never decide to have shellfish. They always prefer traditional Polish stuff like fried pork chop with potatoes etc etc. And they consider us weird. May be it is Krakowian conservatism in some way.

Crayfish can be called Polish crustacean seafood.
Whenever I am low in spirits (feeling blue, I mean), I activate the tin of fish liver. It works wonders. I recommend this method to you.
When I'm feeling blue All I have to do Is take a look at you Then I'm not so blue When you're close to me I can feel you heart beat I can hear you breathing In my ear Wouldn't you agree? Baby, you and me got a groovy kind of love
Any time you want to You can turn me on to Anything you want to Any time at all When I kiss your lips Ooh, I start to shiver Can't control the quivering inside Wouldn't you agree? Baby, you and me got a groovy kind of love
Shrimp chips. They appeared in Poland about 30 years ago. As a child, I was always fascinated by the way they increase in hot oil. Magic!
The main ingredient of this dish is shredded salmon.

Do Americans eat herring? Like marinaded herring. This recipe is called herring in Japanese style. Herring, mayonaise, onion, egg, spices, vodka. I added spring onion to make some difference.

Love the song, but I'm not so sure about the fish liver...
