It seems I am presently the only one here who remember these propaganda specimens in action. Some of these were still on display when I was a boy, in the sixties, and I do remember them. That is why I still cannot look at them without a certain emotions being elicited in me. I would call these emotions a mixture of dense boredom and the feeling of absurdity

I am a bit younger than you, it seems. I don`t remember any of these. We are carrying crops for our motherland. Glory to our liberators Pass me a brick - le`ts build our socialist motherland. We give our regards to women working for peace and the prosperity of the motherland. Looked at from a distance, this poster seems indecent, doesn`t it? Take care of your health - destroy/exterminate flies. What have you done for the rebuilding? First socialist government With a star to the stars Keep a wary eye on people`s enemy This was dreary reality - a line to the grocer`s. The perfect situation - no goods, no line.

The communists were good at propaganda posters. I always see a comparisson with Nazi propaganda: A Nazi propaganda poster which reads: "I live in a German family and feel just fine ".

Both were fully totalitarian systems after all, hence the similarity. When Nazi Foreign Minister Ribentropp visited Moscow in 1939 to work out the Ribbentropp- Molotov Pact (the one about partitioning Poland), we said he felt like at home. Quote: A Nazi propaganda poster which reads: "I live in a German family and feel just fine ".
Quite interesting. A poster in Russian, designed to attract slave workers from the Soviet Union.
