Is this forum interested in this kind of news? In case it is... The Belgian government collapsed today, seemingly over the language dispute. This is bad news for EU as a whole, including Poland, but especially bad for the Eurozone, which fights with PIIGS states' badly ran economy and 'creative' book-keeping by Greece. I am curious about the titles in some of the Western newpapers tomorrow. When government falls in some not that large country in Central and Eastern Europe, the equivalent of Belgium, we sometimes read. "Political chaos in Eastern Europe! The government in XYZtia falls!" uk.reuters.com/article/idUKTRE63L1EP20100422

Oh, my goodness! What is going to happen now? With Europe... With Poland.... What shall we do? ?? The last time we experienced such a dramatic moment in our history was the day when Stalin died. I really don`t know what to think about it.

Being ignorant of European politics and government, What does it mean? Is it like when a coalition govt falls or like when a South American coup occurs? Help me understand this.

Explanation on Greece, in one sentence: Greeks borrowed more than they are able to pay back. Now, they have to tighten the belt but don`t want to. They still think that EU, headed by Germany, will support them, like it has been happening since Greece joined EU in 1980s. Daydreaming! Get down to work, lazy bones! ;D ;D ;D Nobody is going to pay your debts for you! Greeks really can`t believe the good times have ended:

Very well explained. Plus they CHEATED. The sad part of the story the most vulnerable people of Greece will have to pay for that. But they made their choice... while voting.

The people, Greeks, like us, must suffer due to poor leadership.

Have they had a socialist government? With Papandreu? The socialist clan of Papandreuses has been haunting Greece since times immemorial.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Greeks are realising that socialist privileges end with disasters... Or, aren`t they? Whether you stand or lie down, you shall get 2000$.

Time to break the chains to the past, and move forward. Like Poland did, get rid of the socialist, and start anew.

You would not like it, and if you remember, before 1989, you would have the answer. This is what our leader wants for us, here in the USA.

It seems turmoil in Greece has had an influence on American markets too.

The Belgian government collapsed today, it seems it is but doesn`t show this interest. hahaha Well, government rise and fall like empires in history. Nothing special anymore. Some government don`t fall, though they should have long ago. E.g., in Russia or Belarus.

..It was a real disappointment when I realized he wasn't. I am so sorry but this is my infamous resurrecting old threads. hahaha I am notorious for it. Tufta is busy developing his career. Also, he has practised English enough.
