Polish women most enterprising in Europe?22.07.2011 15:18 According to statistics gathered by the European Commission, Polish women are the most entrepreneurial on the continent. Statistics reveal that 37 percent of business-owners in Poland are female, whilst 35 percent have achieved managerial status. However, Polish feminists point out that the low level of women on the boards of companies - just 7 percent - demonstrates that there is still considerable discrimination to contend with. “ Despite the fact that women work longer than men, and receive lower average wages for their work, they have a bigger problem in getting promotion,” says Malgorzata Rusewicz, director of the Social Dialogue and Social Affairs Department of the Lewiatan Confederation of Private Employers. Low female contingents in boardrooms is a problem not unique to Poland. According to the EC, only 12 percent of board members in Europe’s largest companies are women. What's more, only 3 percent of those chairing boards are women. The EC is currently championing a campaign to raise the level of women on boards to 30 percent by 2015. (nh/jb) Source: PAP/europa.eu

It is quite possible. I know a few business marriages in which the woman wears trousers and the husband is her assistant.
