Hey, Che image is legal again! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D The ban didn`t concern my students who wore the guy on their clothing to school. Get your Guevaras out 23rd July 2011
The Constitutional Court has ruled that it is no longer illegal to wear t-shirts bearing the image of Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara.
According to news site TVN24, the ruling follows a previous decision two years ago to outlaw t-shirts and other items of clothing showing the iconic image.
In 2009, amendments were made to the Penal Code via the Constitutional Court by a group consisting of members of the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD). Prior to the ruling, people could only be prosecuted for wearing images or words promoting “fascism or other totalitarian beliefs” or those which incited hatred.
Other images and recognised logos associated with communism that were covered under Poland’s blanket ban included red stars and a hammer and sickle - both of which could potentially land the wearer in prison.
However the decision to amend the law once again comes after an issue with the wording.
The previous law banning the image was split into two parts; the first part relating to promoting totalitarianism or inciting hatred and the second part dealing with distribution such as the production and storage of the items. It was this second part that the Constitutional Court had issue with due to ambiguous wording.

An eldelry woma, while taking a driving test, mistook accelarator with a brake and driving backwards, smashed through a concrete fence and went on a public road. She cried out: What has happened? Everything was OK! www.tvn24.pl/2500778,26086,0,1,1,samochod-przebil-mur,wideo.html ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D It is certainly true that some people lack talent for different things: some don`t have a talent for music, others for languages, others for maths etcetc. The same is with driving - some people shouldn`t be allowed to drive.

This time not in Poland but Russia. Penderecki booed at Bolshoi 29.02.2012 06:00 Acclaimed Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki was booed while attending a performance at Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre over the weekend.
However, it turned out that the heckling had nothing to do with the audience's musical tastes, but was the result of an embarrassing case of mistaken identity.
As staff from the Bolshoi were subsequently obliged to clarify, members of the audience had confused the bearded composer with Vladimir Churov, the head of Russia's Central Elections Commission.
Mr Churov has become a reviled figure in anti-government circles since December's parliamentary elections, during which Putin's United Russia party was returned to power, amid allegations of malpractice.
Opponents of Putin are concerned that Churov's loyalty to the prime minister may also bear weight on the outcome of this weekend's presidential election.
Penderecki had been attending a performance of the opera Dead Souls when the boos began. He was reportedly bewildered by the incident.
“These two men are really very similar from a distance,” the organizers of the performance stressed on their Facebook page.
“But we can confirm that it was Penderecki.”
As of yet, the Polish composer has not made a public statement about the incident, neither has Vladimir Churov. The audience at Bolshoi theater booed an elderly bearded person in an Imperial box after a performance of Rodion Schedrin's opera "Dead Souls". Members of public thought the person was Vladimir Churov, chairnman of Central Election Commission, who the opposition holds at least partly responsible for alleged election fraud and ruling United Russia party victory. People shouted offensive slogans and compared Churov to Chichikov, the opera protagonist, a trickster and a fraud.
The problem is, Churov wasn't in the box. People mistook famous Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki for the Russian election controller. Penderecki was the Golden Mask festival's guest and he was a bit surprised with this reaction.
Golden mask festival's spokeswoman Maria Beilina confirmed the public mistook Penderecki for Churov.Poor Penderecki! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Top class soccer player, Robert Lewandowski, might be prosecuted for drinking champagne in the stadium after Poland won the important match and qualified to EURO 2016. Drinking in public places is prohibited in Poland. linkDura lex, sed lex.

Smog in Krakow forces people to wear masks. However, it is against the law to hide your face in public places (soccer hooligans and other troublemakers do so). So far nobody has had problems, but if the police are strict, masked guys will be fined.

Residents of a small village are divided over the issue of greenery in the cemetery. Some people demand that controvercial plants should be cut down, while others vehemently defend them. The cemetery management behaved like King Solomon - they announced that new plants will be introduced there.

So, are the shrubs along the walkway the ones people are complaining about, or are those the new plants that "King Solomon" introduced??

If you lived in that village, what would you suggest doing? I would suggest that people get their minds out of the gutter and enjoy the greenery present in their cemetery... ...or if that is absolutely unacceptable to some, instead of cutting down existing plants, they could add one or two new plants to each grouping to change the configuration...though in my opinion, that is a waste of money...some people simply need to grow up!

But at least the hoods were similar!

Unfortunately, this is fodder for a "Polish" joke that some people are fond of making. In this case Pollack jokes don`t really apply because they are based on alleged stupidity, while the upside down decorations weren`t stupidity but necessity - they had done some alterations to the installation - and when they found out the cables were too short, it was too late and they decided to hang it anyway, with full awareness what they were doing.

Yes, but people do not know the full story behind the upside down ornaments. They do not know the cables were too short...all they see is upside down ornaments...thus the opportunity for a Polish joke! Actually, seeing the photos reminds me of when we first moved into our house 'way back in 1977. The wallpaper in the bathroom had fish on it (very stylish at the time...yuck), and the paper had been hung upside down, I assume by mistake, so that the bubbles coming from the fishes' mouths were curling downward instead of upward...very strange! We took the paper down immediately! Now we have painted walls.

Some posters called him a primitive sexist swine while others supported him. Sometimes one's thoughts are best kept to oneself, especially when one is a public figure like a council member... In the US when someone does something stupid, we ask sarcastically, "WHAT was he thinking?!" In this case we KNOW what he was thinking!!

A scandal in a village. The priest was ill and couldn`t go caroling to houses in his parish. Instead, his female cook and sexton`s wife went caroling. They blessed houses and signed children`s religion notebooks. Some parishioners felt offended and reported the matter to the bishop who instructed the priest. www.tvn24.pl/dolny-slask-koscielna-i-kucharka-w-zastepstwie-ksiedza-na-koledzie,708451,s.html

An investigation started to find out the culprit who ordered a few mounted police officers to put on angel wings on Epiphany. They looked amusing and spectators laughed while nobody should laugh at the police!! ) The superior of angel police riders was punished with a reprimand and he isn`t eligible for a bonus this year.
