Accidents with guns are quite rare in Poland but they do happen.
Polish boy shoots friend dead in apparent accident

A 12-year-old boy allegedly shot his friend dead with his father's hunting rifle on Monday afternoon in the village of Nieledwia, southern Poland.
“Our preliminary findings have revealed that the father of the 12-year-old is a hunter, and that he was in legal possession of the weapon,” commented police spokesperson Mirosława Piątek, in an interview with the TVN24 station.
“However, in the course of the ongoing investigation we will determine how the gun was stored, and why the 12-year-old had access to it,” she added.
The two boys had apparently been playing in front of one of the houses in the village.
The victim died on the spot.
An autopsy is due to be held and psychological help has been provided for the families of both boys
