It was built in 1966 to commemorate the 1000 years of the Polish state, the so called Millenium Year. Communist rulers attempted to celebrate the event in many ways, one of them was building 1000 schools in all Poland. My school was one of them.
Elsewhere I showed you the photos of my class.
Here are other photos. I still remember those female teachers and some pupils.
The patron of the school was a communist activist, Marchlewski. In result, we had to attend all important communist anniversaries and holidays. His bust stood near the stairs to the canteen.
The plump female was our form teacher in beginner class, years 1-4. We loved her because she was like mum to us. When we had to go to middle class, year 5, move upstairs and leave our teacher, we were very angry. Some pupils openly talked about a strike! Her name was Mrs Kołodziejczyk.
