As a boy I loved reading adventure stories where protagonists catch and eat noble crayfish in Polish lakes and rivers in old times. Or I read documentaries about life before the wars - locals used to catch giant specimen and the export was substantial. I always dreamt about tasting them. The reality today is that noble crayfish is protected because alien species have been taking its territory. What you can get is crayfish from Asian farms. I had eaten crayfish a few times, recently gave it a try again and probably it was my last one.
