Hi everybody :-) My name's Wojciech and I've just been recommended this forum. I study English Philology (study of English language, culture and so on) in Tarnow and I'm glad that some people from England are interested in Polish culture (if such a thing exists ;-)) I'm gonna pop in here sometimes to see what's going on cu Welcome, Wojciech. I like Tarnów a lot. It is not only close to Kraków but also my ex-girlfriend lives there. I used to go to Tarnów quite often hahaha As for the interest in Polish culture and other stuff, you will be really amazed how many people would like to know more about Poland. There are already a few in our forum.

Witem y'all.
Is this the right place for intros? i didnt want to just start a new thread and annoy everyone on my first day!
Someone called Tommy led me here. I am an English guy living in London England and have just begun to learn Polish and now am slowly falling in love with the culture and people too, I have not been there yet but hopefully soon.
Not sure what I can contribute at this point but I have a lot of forum experience (as member, admin, mod, builder) and may be able to offer advice to anyone else learning this beautiful language or indeed visiting London.
Anyway, thats all for now as i have to go out and get drunk with friends. I will browse through here when i get the chance and no doubt post replies with various degrees of relevance and humour!
Dobranoc wszyscy.
Kem

Annoy? hahaha You are a true Englishman indeed, never forget about etiquette and very mindful of other people`s feelings. hahaha Tommy is a member of our forum who doesn`t post much as he prefers to read and watch. But he promised to help with building up the forum somehow. Why are you falling in love with Polish stuff? Let me guess... Is it a woman? What you can contribute with will pop up in the course of events in the forum. Hmm, but only till 11pm, or am I wrong? Humour is really appreciated here.

I sometimes speak and write terrible English myself, especially when I get drunk. hahahaha If you see that my writing gets incomprehensible or even illegible, it will mean I have had too much wine. If you live in Austria, it means you speak perfect German. That`s excellent because from time to time we speak German here too.

strange One of my tutors told us that it's been proved that alcohol makes it easier to communicate and speak foreign language :-) Having been informed about such an incredible fact, I thought I would have to check it out. And I've got to say- it really works :-) But during conversation class you should take a seat at the back to avoid being smelled ;-) Well, I wouldn't advise you to go for a pint just before an exam anyway.. IN VINO VERITAS !!! :-) -Even the ancient Romans knew that !

strange One of my tutors told us that it's been proved that alcohol makes it easier to communicate and speak foreign language :-) He probably meant a little booze. What about overdosing it? hahaha Yes, we did crazy things at the uni too. Those were beautfiful years. To se ne vrati... hahahaha Hey, did you know that there is a slang word WINO in English? It means a person addicted to cheap booze.... Say it aloud and listen carefully hahahahahaha

Yes, I knew that :-) it could be translated as pijaczek,żul,menel hehe ;p Did u mean that when pronunced it sounds like 'why no'- a phrase a wino probably always answers when asked "shall we drink sth?". Do you think it's the origin of it ? :-))) By the way, is anybody interested in making wines ? It's my passion. Well, I also like drinking them

A clever explanation. Hey, you are my type of man! I have been making my wines since high school. Shortly calculating, for over 20 years now. Yes, I am so old.... hahahaha

After years of experiments I have finally decided to concentrate on cherries and black berries to make my wine. Such wines suit me taste buds best. As for a forum, no. I don`t have time to participate in other forums. If I were 20 years younger and were just starting my adventure with wine production, I suppose I would gladly attend such a forum to learn something. But today, I am a self- taught expert, I know what kind of wine I expect, and I know exactly how to fulfill my expectations.

Hello there. I am Puzzler the traveller. I am Polish by birth and heart, and billingual: Polish- and English-speaking. Raised mostly in North America - US and Canada. At present in Europe - UK, Ireland and Poland. I've been mostly posting on polishforums.com; a guy by the nick of Tommy from there has invited me to this site. Well, so here I am. I hope we have exciting chats. I hope you are gutsy enough to accept my sharp tongue and brutal honesty. But if I see in this forum the slightest indication of censorship, admin ego trips, and similar rubbish, I'll be out in an eyewink. Nice to meet you all.

Judging by your nick, they will be not only exciting, but puzzling too. And very informative, judging by your background. I think we are. Are YOU gutsy enough to take in our peculiar Polish sense of humour? hahahaha OK, I will take it easy on those delete or modify buttons, I promise. hahahaha Hmm, btw, how does an admin usually go on ego trips? I am learning, would like to know, a greenhorn admin that I am. Too.

I finished university long ago, now I work as a teacher at a high school and a lecturer of English at the Academy. I am also Roman Catholic. I had to get through Chaucer in 80s, it was drudgery.
