Jules,
You will have a great time in Poland, and want to move there, I did, and want to move, but can't now. Go there with a open mind, and enjoy the places, and most of all the people. They are both great.
Mike

I am new here. I live in Indiana and about now wish I lived in Florida. My maternal grandparents came over from Krakow Poland through Ellis Island. Walter and Helen Kujawa. Settled first in Chicago, then to Indiana, then to Michigan. Sure would like to find some relatives. I have a card that one of my uncle's received some time ago from an Antoinette Janikowski in Walbrych Poland, but since I can't read Polish I can't understand what it says and the letters are not completely legible. I wll enjoy learning things about Poland on this website.

We have some info and photos on it here. The proper spelling is Wałbrzych, it is a town in Silesia. As for the card, if you post the image of it, we may try to decipher its content.

Cześć I've been living in Wrocław for 2.5 years now. I'm interested in Poland, especially Lower Silesia. I work as a trainer in Germany and Poland and like to write articles about life and culture in Poland. Hi and welcome to the forum, again. May I ask where did you live prior to Wrocław and what do you train? Also - I must be frank with you, I went through all your comments! And I am a little puzzled - I expected something about life and culture of Wrocław and Lower Silesia. Instead of that I found that out of 16 posts, half is devoted to presenting your personal views about holocaust Improve yourself! ;D

Did you check Vratoslavians blogsite about Poland? wroclawworkshops.blogspot.comI am from Wales and work in Germany and Poland and lives with my wife in Wrocław. Somewhat subversive, I like to challenge others (and myself) through workshops. I like learning Polish, travelling in central Europe, jogging, yoga, sampling beers from small breweries, bird-watching, heavy metal, Liverpool FC and cats.

[/quote] Wow, so you are DEFENDING poor Vratislavian against my attack? I am moved. There must be some hidden reason behind it. I smell rat.

tufta: I used to live in Dachau and Berlin. I am a historian who specialises in the Nazi times. I do tours about the Shoah. You may notice that a lot of my posts are responses to other people's. What's your point, exactly?
16 posts, and already someone is complaining about what I post about? What a welcome.

What's your point, exactly? Is it a hard job to get a research grant on holocaust in Germany nowadays? Have you ever done research on Roma holocaust or just Jewish? My point is to find out as quick as can be if you are here just to review the board re Holocaust, with what you have unfortunately started. This would be a little boring and redundant. Or if you are here to share part of your life, which most of us do here, enriched by the impressions from Wrocław and Lower Silesia. That would be very welcome. 16 posts and already complaining? You've said you had problems in other boards too. Maybe there's something in the way you communicate?

Thanks The theme I have in mind is animation from Poland (Dumała, Antonisz and Gierz, for example). I find that I hardly know any Poles who have heard of them. Watch this space.
