First tip concerns making quotes. This is the text you want to quote. Click on the quote button You get such a frame with the chosen text inside. The quote symbol in underneath the text. Now you can write your comment under the quote symbol and click the Post reply button. The quoted text looks like this with your comment underneath. The procedure is simple as long as it refers to a single quote. What if there is a need to use many quotes?? That is, if we want to divide the text into several parts and treat each as a seperate quote? Use the quote button. You receive the already known frame with the chosen text inside. Divide the text into as many parts as you wish. Here, for convenience, the text is divided into two parts. Now, you must remember to put quote symbols at the beginning and the end of each part. Use a symbol with a slash [ /quote ] to end each quoted part, and use a symbol without a slash to begin it. The fastest method is to copy the symbol which is always at the bottom of the frame and paste it wherever you need, remembering to add or remove a slash, depending on the position of the symbol. If you are successful, you should receive such result: If not, click the modify button and try to correct your mistake.

How to insert photos into the forum: If you find an interesting photo in the Internet, you might probably want to use it in the forum. Click on the photo to display its address. Copy the address and paste it in the dialogue box. How? Use the add symbol, it is in the second row of add tags, the one with a blurred picture in white frames. It is directly above this smiley When you click on it, you receive this [ img ][ /img ]. Insert the address of an interesting picture inside and here you go Here is an address without add tags. luckystrikes.pl/gfx/2218_a.jpgHere is an address within add tags.

It is a bit different when you have your own photo in your computer and want to show it in the forum. First, remember, there is no direct photo connection between your computer and the forum. You must use the Internet as an intermediary/ go-between. That is why you must place the photo in the Internet. How? There are hundreds of sites where you can store your photos, for free. Practically without limits. One of the most popular is Photobucket. s261.photobucket.com/Visit it, register and create your own account. Then load photos into your account. If there are many of them, you should use this option: Uploading lots of files? Use our bulk uploaderAfter your photos are in the Net, repeat the known procedure. Use add tags and place the photo`s address within. e.g. the address without tags i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii65/LiwellaStaro/DSC00246.jpgThe address within the nonworking tags [ img]http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii65/LiwellaStaro/DSC00246.jpg[ /img] Eventually, the address within working tags. PS. Mike, if you have got any more questions, ask.

Bonobo,
Thanks for the lesson on quotes. I never could figure out how to break them into parts like you do. Your explanation was very clear, I think I have it now!

Bonobo, Thanks for the lesson on quotes. I never could figure out how to break them into parts like you do. Your explanation was very clear, I think I have it now! Huh, I turned a teacher again! I see I will never get rid of my qualities which have completely overpowered me. Once a teacher, always a teacher! hahahaha But, Jeanne, I always expect and am glad to see that students do some part of thinking on their own. Can you tell me how we can insert quotes from different posts (e.g., written by 3 people) into our one reply?

Sorry, Bonobo, but computer class is definitely one I would flunk if I had to do the thinking on my own! I have no idea how to insert quotes from 3 people!

Sorry, Bonobo, but computer class is definitely one I would flunk if I had to do the thinking on my own! I have no idea how to insert quotes from 3 people! It is very simple. Quote-open the post you want to refer to. Copy the quote message and save it in a temporary file, e.g., in Notepad. Close the post. Quote-open another post and repeat the procedure. Quote-open another post and do the same. Finally, at some stage, remain in somebody`s post in the quote mode. Paste all copied texts from Notepad into this post.

the address seems correct i must doing something wrong somewhere will try and work it out over the weekend [imghttp://s285.photobucket.com/albums/1158/franciszek-photos/th_ Franciszek, let`s see how to cope with Photobucket. I will use Livia`s account as an example (such a tradition). Here is a picture she posted recently. Now, let`s remove [ img][ /img] and what have we got?: the pure address of the picture: i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii65/LiwellaStaro/DSC00246.jpgWhen we click on it, we can see this picture on the Net. When we paste it into the address slot at the top of this page, we also see the picture. Now, let`s see the account. It is in this address: i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii65/LiwellaStaro/When we enter it, we can see the account with other pictures stored in Photobucket. The problem with your photo is that none of the above mentioned procedures work. Neither can I see your photo, nor your account. That`s why I asked if you got the address right.

I will have to wait for my daughter to come home from college to explain it to me. I am a visual learner and need to see it first hand. You see, I am and will always be a "digital immigrant". I did not grow up with the language and I will never understand it completely. My daughters, however are "digital natives" they grew up with the language and speak it as natives!

Okay, I am going to ask the question...is the Technical admin issues category for real? If so, then why is Tomek's account status listed as 'Not Activated'? And no, I have not checked it out further. I am curious, but also cautious...

Okay, I am going to ask the question...is the Technical admin issues category for real? What makes you think it is not real??? I can see it, and other active posters too. So why? ;D ;D Most of our Polish forum`s members have not activated their accounts yet. They registered sort of accidentally, without intention to participate. Tomek is an example. Why should you be wary of the person called Tomek?

What makes you think it is not real??? I can see it, and other active posters too. So why? ;D ;D I thought there was a chance it was simply meant as a joke... Okay, I did not know that. Thanks for the information. It isn't about Tomek personally...I just didn't want to go into the thread and have something really graphic pop up on my screen. Some things - like the photo of the drunk, naked Polish men running around at night with their backsides exposed - is funny to me, but that may not be the kind of stuff that is in this thread.

I found out that Tomek means 'twin' in Hebrew, so perhaps you are right - although Bonobo said that he is allergic to twins in another thread...

Guys, I have a request. When you quote somebody`s post which contains pictures, please, can you delete the pictures in the quotes? They burden the thread without real need.
Don`t mind if I do it for you when you forget....

I am planning to move certain photos into seperate threads. I mean photos from holidays, e.g, those taken in the Bee Museum. Currently they are in the general Holiday thread, but will be moved to Apiculture Museum thread. So, don`t be surprised if you see old photos in new threads!

Your the boss, and we love all the photo's you share with us, where ever they are, just keep posting them. And again, thanks for all your hard work with this, I know it takes much time away from your family, but you must like it. You are a teacher, and we all are your students, who want to learn more.

Many of your photo's don't show, just a X and the word image. Mike I see 13 pictures and then even more "[image]" - are ther pictures missing ? I have already mentioned this before. The pictures you can`t see are not really pictures which got wrong, they are stubs for future use. When I start a thread, I make a long list of photo links so that I don`t have to repeat it from the beginning next time. So, everything is all right with pics you can`t see.

Probably you have noticed that I have increased the number of most recent posts from 20 to 35. I think it will be useful for people who take a little break from the forum and when they come back, they can`t see the bold dates of last topics because they are gone when today passes.
I have also discovered a small trick how to have a look through most recent posts and answer a lot of them without going into too much trouble.
1. Click the link 35 most recent posts
2. Start reading the posts.
3. if you want to reply or quote one, click the proper button.
4. Write your reply, click Post Reply button.
5. The forum moves you to the thread which contains the post to which you have just given a reply.
6. Now, if you want to go back to 35 most recent posts, instead of scrolling up to the beginning of the thread, clicking on Polish Forum link and then at 35 most recent posts link, you can click the Back button at the top left corner of your browser. You will see your post how it was before clicking Post Reply. Click the Back button again and you will land in 35 posts.
7. Choose another post and open it to reply.

Bonobo,
I have noticed that we occasionally have an "invisible" user on the forum...what does that mean, and how does one become an invisible user?

Bonobo, I have noticed that we occasionally have an "invisible" user on the forum...what does that mean, and how does one become an invisible user? You have to go to your profile and look for question like show or invisible. I was playing around with your website. I learned. If you want to have privacy or show public.
