Prior to W.W. II, were not the Polish the best horsemen in the world, and are they again?

Bo,
The ones with the white heads are definitely Bald Eagles. The ones who don't I believe are Golden Eagles.
Anyone know for sure?
The bald eagles have come back from near extinction. We have many now who make their great nests along the Allegheny River in Forest and Warren Counties. It's breathtaking to see them flying!

Hedge Hog? Or as we call them in PA: Groundhog yes but hedgehog is different then ground hog. hedgehogs aren't native to the americas and as a matter of fact, i have never even seen one here.. not in the pet store, not anywhere.

Loco is correct. Hedgehogs are not native to the US, though I do know a couple of people who have them for pets. Groundhogs are the same thing known as Wood Chucks...those nasty creatures that wipe out your vegetable garden!

Or sth like that..... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

oh that's cool. i had a hedgehog as a pet when i was a kid. they are pretty cool. maybe they just have them at pet stores out east.
hedgehogs have spikes, that is not fur. they aren't related to porcupines, i don't think, as those are larger and their quills fall out and i don't think they play dead although i didn't see when my dog run into one of those. hedgehogs just roll up and become a ball of spikes. very hard to handle then. hedgehogs are pretty small too.

Aren't they also noctural, sleeping all day and active at night? Seems to me that after the novelty wore off, they'd be a kind of boring pet for a child.

Aren't they also noctural, sleeping all day and active at night? Yes. They are active at night. If kept at home, they make a lot of noise, looking for food. Exactly - you can`t hug and stroke a hedgehog.

you can pet them as long as they aren't rolled up. and sure, they may be nocturnal but they aren't really any different then a hamster or the like.

you can pet them as long as they aren't rolled up. hahahahaha The problem is it is hard to persuade a hedgehog not to roll up.... hahahahaha Exactly. Hamsters don`t have fleas like hedgehogs, while hedgehogs don`t bite like hamsters. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Dear Bo!!! Cheeky AND easygoing. In pair only. Besides the Warsawians have another triat -they keep together, so would you PLEASE leave Loco alone?!!! ;D But I am not doing anything to him... We are discussing rolling up hogs...

Btw - do you know where Krakowskie Przedmieście street name comes from, and what was the name of this street earlier? Krakow Is a S-hithole Street? I used poshest having cultural and intellectual context on mind ... But if you prefer to associate poshest with Złote Tarasy mall, visited by commuters from Wołomin and Pruszków, let it be so..... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I have always had an impression that you definately post your remarks on the forum too rarely, Jeanne ;D ;D ;D ;D Thanks, ;D ;D, but my lack of participation is a direct result of three factors: (1.) Dial-up computer connection, (2.) An ancient computer that fails when it is humid, and (3.) Lack of time!!
