Those of you, here in the U.S.A., I want to wish you all, a Happy 4th. of July, and don't forget what it stands for, and thank the troops for keeping us safe, and pray for those who did not come home from any war. We here have problems, but still a great place to live, and grow.
HAPPY 4th. OF JULY

We all, all over the world have to remember, freedom, sometimes has a high cost. Many great men gave there life for our freedom, and many place would love to have what we have, and don't respect it.

Freedom is not a joke, ask some one who does not have it, like Cuba. So many do not even know what the 4th. of July is, and stands for, do you?

Mike,
You know it is amazing...I have lived in America all my life, but often have been disgusted by Americans' complacency. Many of them care for nothing beyond their own belly. You mentioned Castro, and it reminded me of when I lived in Miami, FL. I had a Cuban friend named Ruben. He was not a Christian like me. That is, I, rightly or wrongly, did not think he would care much about freedom. Oh, was I wrong. I could see the conviction in his eyes as he said, 'Americans don't understand, but you have to FIGHT for freedom.' I liked him from that moment, because I felt the same way.
I guess it is a sad fact: Most do not appreciate something they have never been deprived of. I grew up being in the minority at times--perhaps this made me more aware of how much harm unjust authority can do. And how if one's freedom is based on politics instead of the rule of law--well, you really do not have any freedom then, do you?

Why did you think he , as non-Christian, wasn`t interested in freedom? Yes, it is a common trait in people. Reminds me Poland 200 years ago - Poles didn`t care much about their independence and when they lost it, all of a sudden one Rising for freedom followed another.

They just didn't have the idea of independent state as it was created by the nationalims of 19 century, neither were they prone to accept the absolutist rule of a monarch - which charecterized Prussia and Russian of that time. The freedom in First Rzeczpospolita was that their estate is free, and Rzeczpospolita was so vast and she 'was there' since so many years, that they have had an impression it is eternal. However they have understood their mistakes and have quickly started to rebuild her fundaments and system, without dimishimnshing the freedom the way it was dimished in the neighbouring states. Unfrotunately the neighbouring absolutist states cooperated to destruct her.

There were some of these guys there as well. I asked them if they were down with our rally or counter protesting or what. They were totally cool with our stuff and were just taking advantage of the crowd to get their message out. I got a pamphlet and a video from them. Even if I dont agree with them, I will defend their right to say it. I showed them respect, they reciprocated. Thats how its supposed to work right?

Remember, the cost of freedom come high, and we must pay our part each day.
Many of those who come from another place, and end up in the U.S.A., find fault with us. If they don't like us, they can go back.

Mike Many come here for the freebies and get disillusioned when its time to carry their own weight. Others just got scared when something changed in their homeland and were looking for a soft place to land. We know some people like that dont we? Anyways, I know plenty of people from plenty of countries who come here and work hard, work smart, and live very successful lives. They enjoy their freedoms. It is quite amusing to me when some think we have been sitting around for 235 years just waiting for them to come and "straighten things out" for us. ;D ;D And they think we are arrogant!
