When this is done, again, Poland will be number one. I can't wait until my next visit to see it in person.

The excerpt from the article shows a typically simplistic way of dealing with the problem by the media. It has divided Poles and underlined the deep cultural divide between a deeply Catholic population and an increasingly confident secular society — with many mocking the statue project as tacky. Is it because the journalist is a simpleton or he knows his audience/readers are ones and adjusts his style appropriately? Has he ever thought one might be a deep believer and still view this monument with suspicion? ;D ;D ;D ;D See more: kontakt24.tvn.pl/temat,jezus-chrystus-dostal-glowe-gigantyczny-pomnik-ukonczony,35586.html A fundamental question arises: Is the giant figure going to make Poles better people? My reply: Nope. It is only going to make them excessively vain - Look! The tallest Jesus is in Poland! And vanity is sinful. What is worse, they are going to use it as tourist attraction and business invigorator. The 108 feet (33 meters) statue is to be the world's tallest and is supposed to attract pilgrims and boost business in the town. That is why I view this monument as harmful. Such things should be forbidden by the Church. Exploiting Jesus for commercial reasons - Yuk! Sorry if I offended anyone.
