Panorama Racławicka en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rac%C5%82awice_PanoramaThe Racławice Panorama (Polish: Panorama Racławicka) is a monumental (15 × 120 meter) panoramic painting depicting the Battle of Racławice, during the Kościuszko Uprising. It is currently located in Wrocław, Poland. The painting is one of only a few preserved relics of a genre of 19th century mass culture, and the oldest in Poland. The panorama stands in a circular fashion and, with the viewer in the center, presents different scenes at various viewing angles. A special kind of perspective used in the painting and additional effects (lighting, artificial terrain) create a feeling of reality. Another famous painting is this: Szał uniesień- Ecstatic Frenzy. It was painted by Władysław Podkowinski in 1894. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/W%C5%82adys%C5%82aw_Podkowi%C5%84skiThe picture was exhibited in Zachęta art gallery in Warsaw in an atmosphere of scandal. The painting depicted a raving, naked woman riding a huge, wild black horse through tumultous blackness. The exhibition of lasted only 36 days because Podkowinski brought a knife on the 37th day and destroyed his work. The painting was restored after his death. Rumours suggested that the family of a woman he was in unhappy love with accused him of depicting her in the painting and lashed at him.

A bad women, does the things a wife will not do. And I wife does everything more, feed us, takes care of the kids, cleans the house, and everything more.
This is why I said, all women are good, for one thing or another, you pick.

Hmm...do tell! I am also curious as to the definition of "bad women". I wonder if we share the same definition? ****s. Shame on you, Loco, we shouldn`t speak of women in this way, especially in the Polish Forum. Don`t you know that Poles are known for their reverence to all females, even bad ones?

There are no bad women, just some are better than the others. The biggest problem is when women reject their feminine assets and try to equal or even excel men. They smoke, drink, swear, wear trousers, womanize... ehr.... that is..... hmm..... I mean fraternise, simply speaking , do everything what men do. It is horrible. Shame on such women who are more masculine than men.

Personally I have no interest in trying to equal/excel a man's ability at smoking, drinking, or swearing. Hopefully those aren't considered your assets! I can't agree with you about the trousers, though. Too comfortable and practical. Besides, you men have ventured into more feminine clothing arenas. Sometimes a good thing (for example kilts, especially if you look like Mel Gibson) or a not-so-good thing (for example a Speedo on any man except one who is in a competitive swimming event).

Do you also distrust wiki as a source of info? Like Loco? hahahaha It is provided in the wiki link: The National Exhibition, organized in Lwów in 1894, offered an excellent opportunity to realize Styka’s idea. Canvas, woven to order, was bought in Brussels, the specially-built rotunda’s iron structure (designed by Ludwik Ramułt) in Vienna. The rotunda, located in Stryjski Park in Lwów, was ready in July 1893. The huge panorama painting was executed within 9 months, between August 1893 and May 1894. The official opening was on June 5, 1894. Since the very beginning, Panorama of the Battle of Racławice attracted enormous attention and brought crowds of tourists to Lwów. Have you been on the virtual tour of the Panorama? www.zieba.wroclaw.pl/panorama_raclawicka_main.htmlUnder the picture there is a sentence Wyświetl panoramę pełnoekranową. If you click on it, you will get a wide screen view.

Do you also distrust wiki as a source of info? Like Loco? hahahaha i use it but i have seen too many things pulled out of peoples a**es that i take a lump of salt when i read their pages. many universities forbid using wikipedia as a source in their school work for a reason and those reasons i agree with. that's all. so gigi, you don't seem to mind the skimpier stuff afterall, eh? i haven't been to this place but i have seen some huge paintings up close and from afar and they are amazingly mind blowing really.

Yes, I can agree when universities, especialy at History faculties, forbid students to use wiki. They should find reference in archives, books and scripts. Fortunately, we are not at the university here, so I feel free to use wiki because it is the fastest source (time is money!) and truthful enough in case of info I am looking for to my posts. And if someone finds a mistake in the text based on wiki, they can always correct it. I have nothing against! hahaha

Henryk Siemiradzki painted Nero`s Torches in 1879: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henryk_Siemiradzkidepartment.monm.edu/classics/COINS/data/id/nero.htm Nero 54 - 68 A.D.
One of ancient history's most infamous characters, Nero rose to power in his mid-teens following the death of Claudius, his adoptive fatheright To speed things along he had Britannicus poisoned and in league with his mother Agrippina had had Claudius poisoned as welleft His next few years were failry unremarkable one way or the other largely in part because of Agrippina's overbearing influence. He corrected the problem, however, by having her executed on the pretext that she had a disfavorable view of Poppaea, his new mistress. Because he was already married to a certain Octavia he had her exiled and murdered as well. He would later kick Poppaea to death while she was pregnant. To round things out he had his teacher Seneca, another influential man of his age, commit suicide on suspicions of him and others plotting against him.
Popular legend holds that he set fire to Rome. Modern historians dismiss this account as an exaggeration but his decision to hold a poetry recital with the conflagration as his background was a crass political blunder that would hurt his popularity immensely. Needing to find a scapegoat, he chose to point the finger at Christians who up til then had been but a fledgling cult. For the next 300 years Christians would be villified for every ailment within the empire and used regularly as cannon fodder in the Colisseum. In one of the more bizarre spectacles imaginable, Nero would set Christians on fire and held in position to act as torches during his parties.
