Great photo's. Are any near your home? Please, if you could, label all photo's as to where they are.
Any new photo's of Warsaw? I know you do not care for Warsaw, but this is where many of my family and friends live.

Michael Dabrowski All the recent photos refer to the region of Tatry Mountains near the town of Zakopane in southern Poland. You can see the town in another thread. As for Warsaw, I care for it a lot, and consider it utterly interesting. Mike, don`t take too seriously our exchanges with Livia. hahahaha There will be new photos of Warsaw one day, I promise.

This photos are amazing! i save them all in my PC. the nature there is so beautiful Yes, the Valley of Five Ponds is really amazing. The biggest problem with admiring it is that you need to climb high dangerous mountains to do it. hahaha You are from Jordan. You have a lot of desert there. Don`t you have mountains too? There are some in the Middle East, aren`t there?

I presented the photos with cold cruelty. I am NOT fond of the mountains so much. I can climb a few from time to time, but if I don`t, I won`t be unhappy. hahahahahaha I prefer flat lands with a lot of water suitable for swimming, not like those lakes in the mountains, freezing cold and protected. Yuk.

Tatras bursting at the seams thenews.pl 20.08.2009
Tatra National Park officials are concerned with the fast-growing number of tourists in the area, which some warn is reaching unsustainable levels.
According to the latest count, carried out on 6-8 August, around 33, 000 people enter the mountain trails in the Tatras every day. Almost one third of the number hit the incredibly crowded road to the Morskie Oko Lake, one of the most picturesque spots in the area.
Five years ago, the daily average was 27, 000.
The director of the Tatra National Park Pawe³ Skawiñski told Polish Radio, Krakow, that the number of holidaymakers in the Tatras is a cause for concern in view of the damage of the local flora but dispelled fears relating to the negative impact on the Tatra fauna, saying that the size of the tourist traffic has no bearing on the population of bears, wolves and lynx, provided the tourists keep to the designated trails.
It is estimated that up to half a million people are currently spending their holiday in the Zakopane region, a record number in many years.

Record number of ski accidents in Tatras 02.03.2010 19:01
The number of ski accidents in the Tatra Mountains this winter has maintained the high level reached in the same period a year ago.
The Polish Tatra Rescuers (TOPR) have so far rescued over 1,500 injured skiers and in 2009 as many as 1,754 - and the winter season is not finished yet.
Most of the accidents (1,025) happened between 17 January and 28 February, which is the winter school holiday in Poland.
“Recklessness and insufficient skills were the main cause of ski accidents. Skiers often do not care about other users of ski piste and, for example, cut in on less experienced skiers,” says Tomasz Wojciechowski from TOPR.
Skiers usually sprained or broke their legs; snow boarders broke their arms or wrists and sprain their shoulders.
The most reported accident this winter happened in Jurgowo when a skier slid from a ski lift and fell eight metres down, injuring her spine and ribs.

Tatry Mountains are the most acclaimed and beautiful in Poland, but also the most difficult to climb, and in result, the deadliest. The annual toll is two dozen people. Hiker's body found in Tatra mountains 20.05.2013 09:01 The body of a missing woman was discovered on Sunday in the Tatra mountains of southern Poland.

The woman's husband had contacted the Tatra Volunteer Search and Rescue service (TOPR) on Saturday evening, after she failed to return from a hike on Mount Rysy (2499m), the highest Polish mountain in the Tatra range. The 46-year-old woman had set off alone on Saturday morning. Although the search party began its work that evening, no trace of the missing hiker was found. A helicopter set of to scan the mountain at 6 am the following morning. “While searching the area around the trail on Mount Rysy, some tourists who were in that part of the Tatras noticed the body,” said Jakub Hornowski, a spokesman for TOPR, in an interview with Polish Radio.
As it turned out, the woman was discovered lower down the mountain than had been expected. The TOPR rescue team then came straight to the site, and attempted to resuscitate the woman, but to no avail. The exact causes of the death are still unclear. However, TOPR is appealing to hikers to take extra care. Large amounts of snow are still present in the Tatras, and many areas are extremely slippery.
Tourists' bodies discovered in Tatra mountains 13.05.2013 09:06 Two bodies believed to be those of a German and Polish tourist who went missing last year have been found at different sites in the Tatra mountains of southern Poland.
Separate groups of hikers came across the remains on Saturday, with melting snows revealing sections of trails that had been largely impenetrable for months. Owing to poor weather conditions, only one of the bodies was removed on Saturday, and the second on Sunday. “Everything indicates that the body found in the region of Zolta Turnia [the Golden Crag peak] is that of a German tourist who disappeared last year,” said Zakopane police spokesman Kazimierz Pietruch in an interview with Polish Radio. A 40-year-old German man went missing in late September, and was last seen in the vicinity of the town's bus station. “Back then, the search did not yield any results, but now the mysterious disappearance is slowly getting explained,” Pietruch said. The second body was found on the Polish side of the Kopa Kondracka peak (bordering with Slovakia). DNA tests are being carried out on both victims.

Hiker's body found in Tatra mountains 20.05.2013 09:01 The body of a missing woman was discovered on Sunday in the Tatra mountains of southern Poland.
Within one week, 4 climbers died in the Tatry mountains, including a pregnant woman. Experts and mountain rescuers have been warning about extreme conditions up there in winter time for years but tourists still know better. E.g., rescuers publish photos of careless climbers. These men in the photo reached an extreme peak but later one of them (A) died while climbing down. They didn`t use any climbing gear. Another is wearing shorts and a T-shirt. Unbelievable.

Yes. Very seldom can you hear about foreigners having accidents in Polish mountains. One can call it a typical Polish bravado. Unfortunately, it is a matter of life and death and some people have no imagination.
