I really like seeing the aerial shots. They give one a good feel for the layout and size of the city and the variety of architecture as well as how everything is sited with the landscape. The autumn colors are quite beautiful in some of the shots as well. I always look forward to the spectacular local display of color in the autumn. I found some great autumn photos of Poland on the web, if anyone is interested.

THe main square in Poznan with a characteristic townhall looks wonderful, more like the toy-city made of matchboxes then real. The same applies to the view of Warsaw's Old Town. I enjoy browsing through this thread very much.

Look at the statistics: this thread has 33 posts and 279 visits. The thread Uni Students Have Fun has only 15 posts but 238 visits. It means something. ;D ;D ;D But I will certainly keep on posting aerial pics. Keeps going ... and keeps going... and keeps going.... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Katowice, the biggest city of the industrial Silesia region, known for its coal mines, steel plants and heavy pollution. And boring atmosphere. I wouldn`t like to live there. www.uriuk.com/galeria/thumbnails.php?album=6

I don't know this city, what part of Poland is it in? Near what big city? Mike Check it here: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ostr%C3%B3daIt looks nice but not too very interesting. Can you see those comunist blocks everywhere and a few modern houses here and there? The rebuilding after WW2 destruction has never taken place there.

Great stuff, again, and thank you very much. Many of the places I have never heard of before. Mike Krakow used to be a capital of Poland. Warsaw is a current capital of Poland. But it might change in the future. It is a stadium in Krosno. For various events, including speedway. Yes, you are right, it was flooded recently: See more: www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2010/05/17/powodz-w-krosnie-stadion-pod-woda-zdjecia/

I just looked at Krakow`s centre aerial view again and thought it is not so attractive as other cities`. I prefer uniform red on all roofs, while Krakow offers a motley combination of all colours. I like multiple colours but on walls, not roofs. Krakow Kalisz Warszawa Poznań Better visit Krakow on the ground, not in the air.
