This is a rare specimen. Last time seen in the Baltic Sea 17 years ago. They are going to send it to the Marine Museum in Gdynia.

Do you think it is a indication that the Baltic Sea is becoming less toxic?

Do you think it is a indication that the Baltic Sea is becoming less toxic? No, the toxicity levels are the same, I suppose. Probably it is an indication that sea creatures still haven`t evolved well enough to avoid getting lost in the waters.

Or could it be an indication of warming water temperatures? Isn't that a swordfish, and don't they like warm water?

Isn't that a swordfish, and don't they like warm water? Yes, it is and yes, they do. But the explanation is simpler than we think: the fish got crazy and totally lost control.

I would be surprised if they survive the winter being from the Amazon. But,they just might.

I would be surprised if they survive the winter being from the Amazon. But,they just might. Yes, exactly. Unless they live in waters near the power station, they won`t survive even a mild Polish winter.
