Yes, guys, we have just had New Year in Poland. Three more hours to go here before New Year's. We have had a snow storm today...it is frigid out with much wind and blowing snow...but the festivities go on in Boston. My daughter and her boyfriend have taken the train in for the celebration. Oh the energy of youth! I'm content to stay warm indoors and catch up with the forum!

Happy New Year everybody. Hi Loco! I was hoping you would share the details of your holiday celebrations. Does your family celebrate in a very traditional Polish way, or have you combined Polish and American traditions? I am guessing that you do not keep carp in your bathtub, but perhaps I am wrong...

I have added about 40 of my old/new films to youtube. Do you think your computer will digest them?? ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D I plan on trying...first I want to read most of what I have missed in the forum before I start fooling around with trying to view youtube. I want to start with the storks in the cultivated field...I'll let you know if I'm successful!

I am guessing that you do not keep carp in your bathtub, but perhaps I am wrong... Americans can`t keep carp in bathtubs because they have shower cabins.

I believe we refer to these as "shower stalls"...never heard them referred to as "cabins." ;D And...I would say MOST Americans do have bath tubs and I'm sure they would keep carp in them if they only knew the glories of carp-keeping! ;D

I seen bathtubs in Britain a lot. What are glorys of carp keeping?

What are glorys of carp keeping? I think Bonobo would be the best person to explain what the glories (wonders, rewards, etc.) of carp-keeping are, as he was the one who first taught all us American ignorants about the custom. Besides Tomek, you are Polish, don't you also keep carp in your bathtub?? ;D ;D ;D

Yes, I understand. I love to eat boiled lobsters, but I do not want to be the one to put them in the boiling water... It seems so cruel...and yet I think they taste so good!

Our choice of foods (if we are lucky enough to have a choice) is an important part of who we are!
