The Witcher (Polish: Wiedźmin, Polish pronunciation: [ˈvʲɛd͡ʑmʲin]) is a fantasy series of novels and short stories written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The series revolves around the "witcher", Geralt of Rivia. In Sapkowski's works, "witchers" are beast hunters who develop supernatural abilities at a young age to battle wild beasts and monsters. The books have been adapted into a film (The Hexer), two televison series (The Hexer and The Witcher), three video games (The Witcher, The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt), and a graphic novel series. The series of novels is known as the Witcher Saga. The short stories and novels have been translated into numerous languages, including English and Spanish.
The books have been described as having a cult following in Poland, and in other Eastern European countries.[1] The video games have been very successful, and as of March 2018, they have sold over 33 million copies worldwide.[2]
Here are the main images of Witcher which have appeared so far.
In the order of my preference:
Polish computer game by CD Project - No 1 Witcher image. I never played the game, though. He looks like a tough reliable professional - a trustworthy person to do business with. I would not hesitate to hire him to deal with the demons haunting me in my bedroom at night.
The first Polish comic story from 1999s - rough but still good.
Polish film and series from 2000 - famous Michał Żebrowski plays Witcher. I tried to watch the film but gave up after 30 minutes, it was so bad. Besides, his Witcher is too soft in my opinion, hence unreliable.
TV series from Netflix - the least attractive image. I simply don`t like that actor`s appearance, he looks strange, like a lunatic - completely unreliable. And his hollow cheeks suggest some health disorder or a long period of the lack of proper nourishment. Come on.....
