I'm not a fan of tattoos; I feel they are a form of bodily mutilation, but I must admit the artwork of these particular tattoos is quite impressive... but how about just putting the artwork on a tee-shirt instead?? ;D

Hello Bonobo, how are you? Where have you been old that time? )) I agree with Jeanne. Additionally I am wondering which is yours? I vote for the second one 'under your skin'. Now, where is our 'half-Pole' Pjetrek?

Compare?...compare it to what? They are all "over the top."
The person possessing this one, though, must be an American of Polish decent, or at least someone who wants to be an American.
And as I said previously, this design would make a lovely tee-shirt, and a tee-shirt would be removable!

What would you say if your hubby decided to have a tatto like that??? Luckily for me, my husband would never get a tattoo, so I don't have to worry about that eventuality!

Interesting you used eventuality. I teach my student about this trap word, eventually, which in Polish means probably. Or as a noun, ewentualność, the same as you said. Surprise!

Don't like any of those patriotic tattoos. I really don't understand why people get them done. We have them here too, Union Jacks and british bulldogs for example. Usually seen sporting the body of those with a thug type mentality. Of course, it might be different in Poland, but I tend to associate those type of tattoos with the Polska dla Polaków mentality.

Yes, some people may have such mentality as you suggest. Others may feel they are simply patriotic and want to display their interest in history.

Others may feel they are simply patriotic and want to display their interest in history. Therein lies the difference possibly. When it comes to British patriotic tattoos, I've never seen anything other than the two mentioned earlier. I've never seen or heard of anyone sporting e.g a Churchill tattoo. At least the above shows cursed soldiers and Pilecki. Still don't like those type of tattoos though. This is what we typically get as regards patriotism Complete with the british bulldog!

First idea: Cromwell. Or his Ironsides? They remind me of Polish winged riders. How about British last stands in colonial wars, e.g., the ones in Africa. yes, I know such tattoos would be against pc but tattoos are meant as politically incorrect most of the time. Or WW2? After all Britain won it, especially the Battle of Britain was an outstanding victory. See the Polish ones:

How about famous historical figures from British history I'm sure there must be some people with these type of tattoos, but I've never seen anyone sporting anything like this. Maybe Poles are more aware of their history, or maybe they have more imagination, I don't know. Generally speaking, British patriotic tattoos are found decorating the bodies of thugs. I kid you not.
