I've been working 12 hour shifts (vacation coverage) and enjoying the great outdoors when I'm not working. Carp are spawning, so lots of bow-fishing. The heat and humidity have fallen off for the summer so it's pleasant to be outside again.

The idea that poverty is the cause for this is disrespectful to the poor. This is pure amorality in action.

I don't think Piotr is trying to dictate anything to us, just trying to amalgamate some understanding. Our method of thinking is quite foreign to the European mind-set. I find this forum to be very non-judgemental.

If the past is any indicator, The future isn't great. In this video I like to ignore the generally crazy parts and focus on the mechanics of government and the willingness to use lethal force for basically no real gain. The upside is, retribution is always forthcoming. The people never forget.

In the end we all work out our own salvation. Whether Jew, Christian, Moslem, or Pastafarian. To disallow any opinion to be expressed regardless of its worth or foolishness is a form of soft tyranny that leads to things like the Norway shootings. Think about that. Some of my favorite sites are those where I can speak freely without being modded out of existence. The tone and delivery of a thought carry as much weight to some as the message itself. Being bombastic or sensational is a poor delivery method and generally non-productive. I tend to not be easily offended because I believe everyone is entitled to their opinion. I learn alot of things in a verbal dogfight. It comes at a cost, but its worth it.

Yes she did. We all have problems of some sort don't we? Some are thrust upon us and some we bring upon ourselves. I tend to view Ms. Winehouse as more the later. I am sure that to her these problems were just as real and painful as problems brought about by circumstance. I feel great empathy for her but I struggle to find much sympathy. Some of her music did remind me of bad situations that I was able to leave. I was both lucky and glad to put these things behind me. I wish she could have done the same.

RIGHT FROM THE TORAH-AUTHENTIC JUDAISM
Actually, he's right on this one. I'm not a comparative theologian, but I have read the Quran and Torah, some of the Talmud. Both faiths consider you less than human whether you choose to believe it or not. Your feelings/opinions affect their belief not in the least. This will be my last post on the subject. I simply don't have the time or energy to go down this road publicly.

I have known people in my life who were completely obsessed with the idea of self-destruction, most have succeeded. When I first heard the music of Ms. Winehouse I was fascinated with her for awhile. It quickly became obvious how things were going to end up so I avoided falling in love to much. Brilliance and insanity are sisters, I recognised both in her immediately. I wish peace for those who loved her.

As a rule, if your lifestyle makes you look like this,
You should probably reconsider a few things.

A very interesting discussion. Several years ago I attended an interfaith round-table discussion. I found the Rabbi to be by-far the most unreasonable person in the room. Chaim, I don't buy everything you've presented verbatim, however, there is truth in your message. Perhaps I've missed it along the way, but I don't recall you stating your faith, ethnicity, etc.

I hope anyone but a Democrat or Republican wins next time. I'm sick of the two party oligarchy. Our government needs a serious injection of chaos. The political theater of the last 40 years or so has eroded freedoms to an unacceptable level. I speak with a lot of people everyday, you wouldn't believe how prevelant this thought is. Crosses all race and wealth boundries too.

I'm fine with a European super-state. Some things will be gained and some lost. The eventuallity of a one world governance is also under way. I think this is a step towards it.

I've wondered for some time when the EU would start to campaign for a central/federal government. It appears the trial balloon has been launched. I give it ten years and all national governments will be reduced to a symbolic status. Power never wastes a crisis. www.spiegel.de/international/europe/0,1518,773071,00.html

The only honest answer about the origins of the plane crash is "I don't know". History is full of these kinds of incidents. Suspicious? yes. Motives? yes. Was this an intentional assasination? I don't know. Could it be? yes. I do know that when powerful interests are threatened they have no issue with spilling blood, lots of blood. History proves me right on this. Is this being exploited politically? yes. Should it be? maybe. Politicians grasp for anything to appeal to their base and try to bring others to their side. This is a devisive issue in Poland apparently. At best, all this fuss is political theater and both sides share a drink at the pub at the end of the day. Its a show to keep you and I busy arguing amongst our selves while the powerful do as they please while we are distracted. As a political atheist, this is what I've come to believe. FWIW. Technically, The plane was following an electronic signal to a point on the ground. If you move the transmitter to the forest, the aircraft will land in the forest. I don't really mean to fuel this conspiracy, but as a fairly high level technician, I can't avoid the thought exercise of how this could have happened. It would have to be done at a high level, but possible. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Instrument_landing_system

Jeanne. I play a little Jazz bass, Banjo (I know!), and some Harmonica. I would say the harp is my fave. I can turn a room inside out by playing some Chicago blues with some improv lyrics! Bend the lyrics to the party theme and watch the smiles. This guy is really good, but I can't stand to watch him.
Commercial music is < common Blues/Bluegrass/Country and Funk. (I love funk) I've taken this thread so far off topic that it may never get back.

I fully support this ban. Speaking as someone who has both butchered livestock and hunts wild game on a regular basis, the idea of not rendering an animal unconscious before letting it bleed-out is the most inhumane and barbaric thing I could possibly imagine.
I can sum-up my feelings about ritual slaughter with 4 words- "F*ck everything about this!"

I really like this design! I will bet that if the material is laminated in such a way as to allow the frame to flex and absorb road bumps, the ride would be very smooth indeed! I can envision different woods and stains that would make such a ride a stunning work of art. Maybe some carvings and such. Each one as unique as a snowflake.
