Do you know AC/DC?
In another thread I recalled this group whose song For those about to Rock was the first heavy rock piece that I heard and instantly took to it. Total revelation to me then. It was in 1981.

AC/DC electrify Warsaw 28.05.2010 12:06
Around 65,000 heavy metal fans snapped up tickets last night to see legendary Australian rockers, AC/DC’s gig in Warsaw. A giant stage was erected topped with huge red, flaring horns and backed with a PA system with enough mega-wattage at Bemowo airport so AC/DC could be heard not just in the vicinity of the stage but also some kilometers away. Fans flocked to the event from all over Poland, representing several generations. Parents with children, teenagers, students and middle aged heavy metal aficionados decked out in AC/DC t-shirts greeted the band. Guitarist Angus Young performed as usual in school-boy’s uniform, while ex-Geordie singer Brian Johnson not once disappointed, singing the oldies and the latest from group’s huge repertoire. Polish fans have been waiting for an AC/DC concert for nearly 20 years. The last time the Australian hard rock group appeared in Chorzow was in 1991. Since then they have recorded just three new albums. The Warsaw concert was part of a tour promoting last year’s album Black Ice which has already sold in over seven million copies.

Woody Allen’s trad jazz band makes flying visit to Poland 23.03.2011 10:54

An audience of around 1, 000 is expected to attend tonight’s concert in Katowice of Woody Allen and his New Orleans Jazz Band, in which the famous film director plays the clarinet.
The event is one of the highlights of the city’ s promotion in its race for the title of the European Capital of Culture in 2016.
Allen and his six-strong group, with Eddy David (banjo), Conal Fowkes (piano), Simon Wettenhall (trumpet), Jerry Zigmont (trombone), John Gill (percussion) and Greg Cohen (double-bass), arrive in Katowice in the afternoon hours and leave shortly after the concert. Such a schedule is described by some as a disappointment for the organizers who have prepared a list of sightseeing attractions for the visitors.
A retrospective review of Woody Allen’s cinema output is currently under way in Katowice with 36 films on the programme.
Woody Allen’s only previous visit to Poland was in December 2008, for a concert in Warsaw’s Congress Hall.

Bonobo,
This was my first AC/DC album I bought in the 1980-ies. It was an exiting album. I played it next to Turbo, my old Kiss albums and Motörhead and Slayer back then. To me it was a sort of rootsrock, the basic hard rock with a fundament in bands like Mc5 and Jimmy Hendrix and Blues. Under it's heavy rock AC/DC has Blues.
On my second AC/DC album I loved this song the best:
