Please, share with us the news what you currently do for a living and if you find it rewarding and why. If not, what else would you like to do?
I am a teacher of English. I work 1.5 full time in a nice high school where I teach English to selected language classes. Most of my students are decent guys, the only problem I have during our lessons is that some of them like talking to each other, which can be disturbing.
I also do a part-time teaching job at the University of Pedagogy. It is only 6 classes of seminar per week but they are very well paid.
I also work as a commuting tutor with various kids and adults in the area - ages from 5 to 55.
In the past I did some translations and was a ghost-writer and consultant of a few Master`s thesis (e.g., Home Assignment as an Essential Element of Foreign Language Teaching and Learning; or Vampires in Popular Culture). But I gave it up because it was time-consuming and nerve-racking.
I wouldn`t like to do anything else - teaching is the best career I could ever dream of. Where else could I get such instant interaction as I have with my students? The procedure is very simple - I crack a joke and we laugh. Next, they crack a joke, and we laugh again. And so on..... I do what I like and am paid for it!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I work in the Electical/Instrumentation field of a large industrial complex. My job is to keep dangerous chemicals and electrical power systems under control and functioning in a safe and useful fashion. Prior to that I was an operator at an automated chemical production facility.
Before I went to secondary school I dug graves/mowed grass at a cemetary and painted elevated water towers.
This August I was involved in a seminar where I provided electro-mechanical support for a group of High school teachers who were converting an automobile to an EV. (electrical vehicle) Maybe I will post some pictures if you are interested. I never did because it really has nothing to do with Poland.
I enjoy my job well enough and am very engaged in whatever I undertake. Its ultimately just a paycheck. The thing that I really treasure is the variety of interests that my experience allows me to follow with a good degree of competence. A side benefit is that I have been able to get roaring drunk with people from almost everywhere on earth while doing project work. Lived to talk about it too!

My job is to keep dangerous chemicals and electrical power systems under control and functioning in a safe and useful fashion. Being a layman, it seems to me that chemicals are a far cry from power systems. Is it normal to combine two so different duties? Or you are a rare specialist in charge of two fields? It reminds me my young days. I collected used bottles and sold them to support my family. Why should High school teachers do sth like that? Tim, haven`t you noticed we have been going global recently? Your photos will be surely appreciated. ;D ;D ;D ;D It gave me an idea - let`s all present photos from our work places. How about the atmosphere? You mentioned your wife and spiteful biting and bickering at her job. Is it better around you? How do you get on with your superiors? You need to explain because it is vague. First of all, what exactly did you drink to get roaring drunk? Did you have any snacks to drinks? On rocks? Mixed? Shaken?

You mean AIP - Anything is Possible? I know this company - they do such stuff like delievering a female hippopotamus to a stag party. Wow! Also, can you elaborate more on it? Is it rewarding? Do you want to change? etc.... We didn't organize a stag party, but certainly we can deliever a hippopotamus anywhere you' d like to ;D Usuallly our customers are firms wanting to improve their inner functionning on the human level. Or people running/responsible for such firms and wanting to improve their 'performance' (both professional and private, in fact this is the same). Or anyone willing to 'grow' personally. Yes it is rewarding and inspiring.

I am a Special Education Tutor working in an elementary school giving support (mostly in-class) to students with learning disabilities, many of whom also have behavioral issues. I absolutely love my work. I do all the rewarding and fun things that classroom teachers do...like working one-on-one with students and helping them acquire skills which they may find difficult. On occasion I work outside of the classroom giving small group instruction. I am also at times a comforting and familiar presence to children who may have difficulty dealing with what for them is a difficult environment because of their academic struggles. However, I do not have to do any of the pain-in-the-neck work...like grading, disciplining, dealing with parents, or planning that classroom teachers need to do. When my own children were small, it was the ideal job for me because I had "school schedule" hours and vacations. But beyond that, I love that every year we start afresh with a new batch of kids. Even if I work with the same students for several years, their growth over the summer brings them back as "new" kids in their increasing maturity. Every day in an elementary school is an adventure, as you never know what will happen that day due to the nature of young children! I truly believe I couldn't find another job for which I would be as well-suited! I really feel blessed to have my particular job!

I am a semi-retired, Private Investigator, who now has been doing a lot of Process Server work all around, and sometimes, it is very hard, to give papers to someone, who must give up there home. Sometimes it is good, when I give good news. But that is life, and someone has to do it.

Bo, My primary job is large intergrated control systems. (automation) In order to maintain a process under control you have to understand it completely, not just the instruments and controller but the chemical and/or mechanical process itself. I am fortunate to be a quick learner and am able to think in the abstract. Today I located some debris in a chlorine vapor line by borrowing a Flir camera (thermal imaging) from our reliability group. Knowing that compressible gasses change temperature with a sudden drop in pressure I was able to locate the debris using a non invasive technique. Thats the sort of thing I do everyday. The crud was located at the inlet of a coriolis effect flow xmtr. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mass_flow_meter Neat huh? I get to play with science everyday. The School teachers were a mix of automotive/industrial arts teachers from high schools and vocational schools. An electric vehicle is a microcosm of all the problems involved in alternative energy and general efficiancy studies. An excellent tool when combined with a problem based learning aproach! My co-workers are a real joy to be around. A true group of mis-fits and outcasts who could solve any problem you put before them Its like a biker gang full of nerds. As far as supervision goes, they know we can screw them pretty badly if they mess with us too much. They tread lightly:) I get to go to a lot of systems training schools. It is usually very international. Drinking beer is like mathmatics, Its a universal language.
