What will you do for Dyngus Day?

Here many don't even know what Dyngus day is, but some do and do different things for it, what do the people of Poland do?
Any one who has any photo's of the goings on, for this day, please post them.
Those of you in other places, like here in the USA, tell us what will be done in your area, and post photo's if you can, please.

We sprinkled water on each other, boys and me used syringes and water guns, the beds and pyjamas got all wet and mummy went crazy when she saw it so I had to calm her down, saying the custom must be observed on such a day.


The Wet Monday during last Easter was cold and windy so there were hardly any people in streets.

Well, I get wet doing washing my car and washing my condo windows.

I get wet when my nephews and nieces put water in balloons and throw at me and others. Boy, oh Boy we really get all wet. I think it is fun during hot wether.

The tradition is very old and I am really keen on maintaining customs and traditions. Smigus Dyngus can be charming and nice but nowadays there are a lot of hooligans who can change this habit into something violent and nasty. I hate it!

Here in the USA most don't even know what it is, and those who do just meet at bars, and eat and drink, some times to much. We the Polish-American's, I wish would do more for this day, but what do I do, to changes this myself?

Poles eager to soak politicians on ‘Wet Monday’

Jaroslaw Kaczynski could count on a proper soaking, according to the Homo Homini poll.
For Easter Monday and the tradition of ‘Smigus Dyngus’, a new survey reveals that apart from passers-by or family members, Poles wouldn’t mind giving top-ranking politicians a soaking either.

The Homo Homini poll shows that as many as 31 percent of respondents would like to douse Law and Justice opposition leader Jaroslaw Kaczynski, with 17.5 percent of Poles opting for the current Prime Minister, Donald Tusk.

Former maverick Civic Platform MP Janusz Palikot would get a soaking from 8 percent of respondents, with leftist leader Grzegorz Napieralski promised a drenching by 3.5 percent of those polled.

Meanwhile, President Bronislaw Komorowski could count on being inundated by 1.7 percent of Easter Monday revellers.

Former President Aleksander Kwasniewski, current Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski and populist leader Andrzej Lepper would remain dry as a bone, according to the poll.

The poll was undertaken by telephone on 21 April on a representative group of 1,100 Poles.
