Hello there. I am Puzzler the traveller. I am Polish by birth and heart, and billingual: Polish- and English-speaking. Raised mostly in North America - US and Canada. At present in Europe - UK, Ireland and Poland. I've been mostly posting on polishforums.com; As I already said somewhere else, almost everybody comes from some other forum. There is a constant interforum exchange. Cases of absolute beginners are rare, I suppose. I have been on forums for 3 years now and already contributed extensively in three boards, with 3000 posts in two of them. I thought it would be advantageous for our members if they knew other places too. Our forum is so nice hahaha but it certainly can`t provide for all tastes and needs. E.g., we specialise in photography of today`s Poland while genealogy is completely ignored. Why? I don`t have time and energy to deal with such topics. I have enough on my shoulders. So, to seek your ancestors you must join another forum. What Polish English forums are there? I will check something and let you know.

Do you want a list of the others, I know of? I am thinking hard about it now. I started talking about other POlish English forums on the spur of the moment, after I had read Puzzler`s post about his background. Hmm, but what was my purpose for creating this thread? Mike, I think that we can write about other forums on condition they do the same to us. Puzzler`s forum he mentioned seems to have some knowledge about us.If they know, why shouldn`t we know about them? It is a fair deal, I think. So, Mike, if you are a member of other forums, and they allow you to write about us there, I think we will have nothing against reading about them here. But don`t just give the addresses. It would be too simple and boring. Say about advantages or disadvantages of each forum you are going to describe. OK?

Today morning I visited the forum which Puzzler talked about. www.polishforums.com My goodness, it is a very busy place. Probably the biggest of all. There were about 50 members and 50 guests online at the same time. This makes it almost a real time chat forum. My observations after I looked through it: there are many threads, topics are versatile and quite interesting. It seems there are many students and young people because avatars suggest so - many depict Japanese cartoon characters (I remember how once girls used to get excited about Moon Sailor). Also, another hint of the average age is several threads about sex and meeting partners. Altogether, the forum seems very dynamic and active. I didn`t participate too long so I don`t know if you can really solve your problems there (concerning genealogy, for example, but I also saw threads with classified ads so people may look for positions) or it is simply for light talk. One thing which makes it different from ours - there are hardly any photographs in it.

I like the 'smallness' of this forum, but who knows how large it will grow with time?

When I was on a larger forum I was mostly just an observer, but in this format I find myself posting more because I enjoy it more.

but i am glad to find this place. seems nice. It would be interesting to know your reasons for liking it. What is it exactly? Forgive me my curiosity but I have always enjoyed learning people`s motives. Is it just photographs or something else too? Once, before I started posting pictures, I had fought a mental battle with myself. To be or not to be: to post good quality pictures but limit the number of recipients, or post low quality so that everybody could enjoy. I decided to use better quality. I don`t know anybody in Poland who uses a modem. People have cable or local provider connections. I assume that most people in the West have such too. Sorry but modem connection is so obsolete today.

A few words about Polish forums which I started my forum adventure with 3 years ago. Bella forum with a Polish group. It used to be very busy once, run by Jaga, a nice intelligent Polish woman living in the USA. forums.bellaonline.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=postlist&Board=63Today it is quieter after Jaga moved out to create her own forum: Polish Culture Forum jagahost.proboards79.com/index.cgi?which is connected with Polish Culture site with many articles. culture.polishsite.us/I used to be very busy there, reached 3000 posts, but after falling out with forum`s admins, unluckily chosen by Jaga, I started my forum here, on the same Proboards platform.
