Tufta, Bruno Schulz must have been an important and verry influential artist when he (although maybe indirectly) influenced so many people and stil is cherished or admired by many Poles, Ukrainians and Israeli's. And next to that by some Dutch people, because when you look at his Dutch wikipedia page there is a long biography about him with a lot of images. ( nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruno_Schulz ) But also the German, English, French, Spanish, Portugese and Russian language sections of Wikipedia mention Schulz. Look what I've found - Bruno Schulz or about him in Dutch www.brunoschulz.org/wydania.htmTufta, There are 15 translated titles of Bruno Schulz books in which his work or biographical info is mentioned in Dutch. I didn't realized that Schulz was so liked or found important enough by Dutch slavists to translate his work. Now I have to decide if I buy a Dutch translation of his work or the English one, or both. I tend to buy " Letters and Drawings of Bruno Schukz - with Selected Prose - edited by Jerzy Ficowski.", because I like the look of the book and am curious about the content. Cheers, Pieter |

Finally, dear forum members, good news this morning.  First hazel catkins have shown up! This winter has an end! Alas, I wish it were true...the past two days we have had a true blizzard in these parts! 24 inches of snow in my neighborhood!!  |

Weather report. In addition to catkins on the hazel trees  we now have the first wave of some sort of mayflies (??) dancing their magic up and down, up and down flight No wonder. Sun is warm, snow is gone. Spring is near! |

Poor mayflies. Winter's back with some 10 cm snow on the ground... W marcu jak w garncu! You are not alone...we had a storm yesterday. It dropped about 18 inches of snow on us. The only good thing was that I had a day off from school. Today is sunny and warm. Rapid melting is going on! |

That damn winter is back in the Netherlands too. I long for the Sprig to come, because I am fed up with the dark and cold weather. Also because I have been ill some time. It's like that for the first time in my life I can't stand the cold. In the past I loved the winter. But with the long autumn and winter there were to many dark days this end of 2012 and beginning of 2013!
