This is the greatest Greek tragedy ever - Greeks made their own country bankrupt with incredibly blown socialist priviliges. What is worst, though totally broke, they don`t want to give them up and tighten the belt. This is really utter cheekiness. The sad fact is that Greece’s particular brand of socialism is primarily what has brought it to the brink of disaster. By giving the ever-present labor unions too much power in determining wages and hiring practices, and by demanding wage increases without higher levels of productivity, the country has had to borrow money to maintain its living standards. In short, the Greeks have lived “high on the hog” at the expense of their creditors. Unfortunately for Greece, the Gravy Train has just pulled out of town, and the country is now faced with the prospect of “working for a living”.www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/thereporters/gavinhewitt/2011/04/greece_still_in_crisis.htmlRead about some socialist regulations in Greece: Greeks in the public sector retire at 58, Public sector workers have succeeded in redefining time itself: Every year, they receive 14 monthly payments. You do the math. And for about seven months' work - for many of them the workday ends at 2:30 p.m. When they retire, they get 14 monthly pension payments. Holidays is paid by the state.
