Danuta Wa³êsa, the wife of Lech Wa³êsa, just published a biography. A very bitter book. She claims that Lech Wa³êsa wasn`t a good husband or father because he was involved in politics too much. She had to take care of him and their 8 children. Yes, she symbolizes the eternal myth of Polish Mother - caring, persevering, enduring, solitary, supportive, unique.

"Myth" I'd say "fact" or "reality". Many mothers of all nationalities are caring, persevering, enduring, solitary, supportive, unique, and MUCH MORE!

Walesa admits he is yet to read wife's autobiography 18.11.2011 13:51 Former president Lech Walesa has revealed that he has not yet read his wife's eagerly anticipated autobiography, but that he plans to do so.
“Perhaps I'll read it, as there are a couple of things I'd like to understand which I hadn't paid attention to before,” he told the Polish Press Agency.
Danuta Walesa's Marzenia i Tajemnice (Dreams and Secrets), which is being billed as “extremely frank” by Krakow-based publishers Wydawnictwo Literackie, is due out on 22 November.
The former first lady, who admits that she disliked that very term and was unhappy during her husband's time as president (1990-95), writes that her husband's periods of absence had a negative effect on their eight children.
Besides details that Walesa “never bought her flowers spontaneously” she says that their love endures.
“We continue to love each other, there is no doubt about that,” she wrote.
“Our religion does not allow for separation, so we patch up what we can, but you can't patch up everything,” she added.
For his part, Walesa told the Polish Press Agency that he regrets not having told his wife more about his underground activities.
He said however that he was compelled to keep certain secrets from his wife during his leadership of the Solidarity trade union.
“When I had bugs [in the apartment] - and I knew that I had them - could I really tell her what I was planning, what I was doing?” he postulated.

I question the wisdom of Mrs. Walesa's public revelations. Sounds to me like for her it's "payback time" in their relationship...a dangerous place to go for the health of their marriage!

I heard a psychologist who claimed she is trying to undergo a self- invoked therapy. Unfortunately, the marriage seems void. She complains her husband once proposed to communicate with her over the Net - with him upstairs and her downstairs in the same house. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Awww...that's sweet! Wa³êsa complains that his 30 something years of marriage has been ruined. The guy had problems with showing love to his wife, and she did suffer. But they have had 8 children - is it for naught? Show me another man who doesn`t love his wife and produces so many kids with her?

Alas, while the ideal is to have love and procreation equate, they do not always do so! Love may exist without procreation, and unfortunately procreation may exist (and often does) without love.

It is wise, though very sad truth at the same time. I dont` know - should I wonder at the wisdom or feel down at the sad side effect of your comment?

I agree that it is a sad truth...but rather than just get down about it, let's resolve to never be someone who contributes to the problem! We should all recognize that love is not just a feeling, but is most authentically expressed through our actions. Love and responsibility go hand in hand! Our responsibility is to make sure that our love of another person is never a "love" that uses that person, or reduces them to an object of pleasure or a means to any type of selfish end.

He was twice married, has 3 kids from legal marriages and 4th with an unwed woman. But the main problem is that he is an alcoholic who publicly admits it and says he doesn`t see any sense in living. www.fakt.pl/Slawomir-Walesa-Zapije-sie-na-smierc,artykuly,195569,1.html
