What do you think of Obama? Is he a good president? Is he good for the U.S.A.? Is he good for the world? Many here, very many think he is bad, and is running us in the ground, what do you think? I myself hope he never gets re-elected, we here in the U.S.A., can't afford another term with him, or we here, will all be hurt more. I have never known of times as bad as what he made for us now, ever before. Now tell me what you think.

Mike, First of all not all things that are going bad is caused by the present American administration. Secondly, previous administrations have also caused the problems which the USA is dealing with right now. Thirdly the Obama administration is doing things his voters did not wish for. He spends a lot of money on foreign wars in times of a huge economical crisis. Ben Shalom Bernanke (born 1953) the current Chairman of the Federal Reserve, the central bank of the United States, was appointed by President Bush on February 1, 2006. No presidency and administration today, wether Democrat or Republican would have an easy task today. It is maybe the worst period after the Second World War in the Western world. It is a very difficult task to reduce the American Government debt. The American economy is funded by Chinese and Japanese money (because the Chinese and Japanese don't want the American economy to collapse and loose an important export market, trade partner and place for investments). I the Chinese and Japanese would like to destroy the American economy, they could sell en mass American Bonds (finance) and shares. Truth is today that the Tea party has no solution, the Republican party has no answer and the Democratic party has no answer. The Americans do not want tax raises that can reduce the state debts and give the American government funds to invest in the economy. The free market does not do it's job in times of crisis. There are less jobs - the raising unemployment and poverty -, there is no growth and in the financial-economical sense the psychology of pessimism. The global markets drop weak after week to lower levels. Cut backs are necessary, less spending too. There is no money for this, no money for that and no money for many things. The problem in the USA and Europe is that we loose production, because production of goods is being transfered to Asia ( China). I don't know enough about the USA or the Obama government to give you a clear opinion about the Obama administration. What I do know is that he is not the man people who voted for him thought he would be. For independent liberals and some democrats he isn't Democrat and Liberal enough, for his republican and independent conservative voters who wanted " change" he isn't conservative enough, and for his oponents, they get what they feared he would be if he would be elected. Fact is that there are elements of the Bush administration in office and you stil have Republican states in the USA. The near future will show us where America is going. What for steps will the present administration make in the near future. Who will be the next president after the elections, and what sort of administration will he or she have? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Late-2000s_financial_crisisen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Late-2000s_recession

If you talk to the people who know, and I do, this is not the case. We woul not have this problem with a president who cared for the U.S.A. Many of his own have turned on him now, for what he has done to us. I, along with many others, hope he is just a one term, we can't take anymore of him, and his thinking.

Many of his own have turned on him now, for what he has done to us. I, along with many others, hope he is just a one term, we can't take anymore of him, and his thinking. Mike Mike, If the majority of the Americans is fed up with this president they can vote for another candidate and get a different administration. The fact remains that economical reforms, financial measures, new monetarian policies, large cut backs, moderate taxes (and tax reform), the closure of unbenificial companies, lower wages (to compete with the rest of the world), investment in Research & Development, and again cutbacks on all fields of government spending are needed. The Federal government is to large. Make it smaller. Less civil servants (public servants), less public services and more local, regional and national free market mechanisms. In China everything is regulated by the market. You can buy everything, sell everything and for every demand there is supply. So maybe I am a libertarian on the economical level, a liberal on cultural issues and a conservative on certain traditional values and customs our ancestors, fathers and mothers held and I want to maintain. I see these values in the USA to and like it when these are maintained and cherished in the USA too. What do I mean? The christian character of the USA, the American constitution and bill of rights, and the spirit of free enterprice, the inventive mind of the American people will keep America allright. Mike, I am not worried about the USA, eventhough it is a difficult situation right now. Again, you can choose a new president and the Americans can get the adminstration they want. Cheers, Pieter

Pieter, Do you think you would think different if you live here in the U.S.A. and talked with the people? Mike I think I would Mike. Living in a European country is differant than living in the USA, having acces to American information, the voice and opinion of American people and citizens.

Pjotr,
You don't get the full news, only slanted reports. They, the American press, won't let much of the truth out. You have to dig to hear and read both sides, as I do.

From where I am sitting here in the Uk and the information I read I feel that maybe the US administration is slowly taking away peoples liberty and freedom. I have a great admiration for the American people and their constitution and I fear that if you dont look after, protect and nurture your constitution you may suddenly find you have lost it. That would be a tragedy for not only the American people but the world. Tony www.squidoo.com/polish-food

If anyone thinks that Obama is bad, they should always remember the last president. He was more than bad. One should also think of the republican alternative to Obama; whoever he will be, he will be worse.
There are two many powerful people in the US and too many idiots who follow them who scupper any attempt to do anything good.
Public health care is of course a very good thing. Not that everything that Obama does is good, of course.

As long as they are safe, they can give up a little freedom.
