In the Netherlands, Poland and other countries you have people who are fond of their city, town and or region.
In the Netherlands and probably other countries you have songs about these cities which show the sentiment or emotion of the singer with his or her city or town.
Do you have nice Polish songs about Warsaw, Krakow, Poznan, Gdansk, Lublin and etc.?
Her some Dutch examples:
Amsterdam:
The Hague
(In the typical The Hague peoples dialect)
Rotterdam
Song about the cosy live at the Zeeland coast
Eindhoven song
Sung in the soft G Brabant Dutch accent (comparable to the Flemish language of Dutch speaking Belgium)
Poland is a larger country, it has more cities and regions, the Polish language has more speakers, so I hope that there are Polish songs about cities, towns, city neighbourhoods, regions or villages.

Tufta,
Thank you very much for this very nice collection of songs about various Polish cities. Ofcourse due to my family heritage my connection is with Poznan and Warsaw. But the other Polish cities have nice songs too. I do like the melancholic sounding song about Krakow though.
Often I have more abstract musical connections to places and spots, with electronic music and sometimes international pop songs. The cause lies in the fact that I am raised with an Anglo-Saxon taste. No Dutch, German or Polish pop music, but British and American pop music dominated my youth and even my present.
In abstract music like this I imagine myself in an night club in Krakow, Warsaw or Poznan. Krakow, because I spend there my best night out in a New Wave like night club with exellent dance music. I remember that they played the Cure and New Order. They actually played this New Order song, and therefor if I hear this song, I think about Krakow.
My memories of Warsaw are more abstract, because the space between the new town and the old town I saw in August 2006. And there was a contrast between my teenage vision of Warsaw when I visited the town in 1984 and the Modern Warsaw of 2006. I was to short in Warsaw to be able to catch the city. I have no musical connection to the city, because Chopin is to cliché to be the musical image of Warsaw.
In this abstract, deeply melancholic and moving sound I imagine myself driving towards Warsaw on Polish highways, with the nightlights on, seeing the Warsaw sky line coming towards me, driving towards the city centre, parking in the neighbourhood of the Central train station, walking the Warsaw boulevards, passing the large buildings and the bussy traffic of private cars, cabs, busses, trams, trucks, motors and scooters. Continuing my walk towards a night destination, a club with good music, nice people, a cosy atmosphere, a good dance floor and good dj's. A person may have his fantasy. And who knows maybe in the near future this will be reality.
Cheers, Pieter

Not normally a fan of Trance, but Sun Down was not bad at all.
