(It will be interesting to see where this goes...)
Apollo 14 Astronaut: Space Aliens Are Real Thursday, April 23, 2009
An Apollo 14 astronaut told a group of UFOlogists Monday that aliens are not a myth and called on the government to disclose its findings, The Washington Times reported.
"It is now time to put away this embargo of truth about the alien presence," Edgar D. Mitchell, who made the longest moonwalk in history, told those attending a conference in Gaithersburg, Md., set up by the Paradigm Research Group.
"I call upon our government to open up ... and become a part of this planetary community that is now trying to take our proper role as a spacefaring civilization," the 79-year-old added. "We are being visited."
Paradigm Research Group founder Stephen Bassett backed Mitchell's theory and demanded that President Obama's administration release all information concerning extraterrestrial beings.
"If it does not disclose, by the end of May — this is not a threat or anything, you don't threaten the United States government, they're heavily armed ... the PRG has an enormous and substantial network, and quite a bit of documentary evidence connected to this, particularly politically ... and we are going to be extensively putting that out to the media, and we're just going to make it as difficult on them as possible," Bassett told the newspaper.

And we, the U.S.A. cause the Global Warming, alone. And we don't care either. We just do it alone.
This is just another far out story, like Al Gore.

Mike With all respect Mike, I would not be so quick to say there is nothing to it. Why is the Air Force Base at Roswell, NM locked up so tight, and for 60 some years? What leads me to believe there is something to it, is that the Government has had the Roswell Army Air Base closed to the public/off limits, and there seems to be such a "secret" air about the whole thing. Just what have they been hiding all these years? ? From Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roswell_UFO_incidentLocation of Roswell, New MexicoOn July 8, 1947, the Roswell Army Air Field (RAAF) issued a press release stating that personnel from the field's 509th Bomb Group had recovered a crashed "flying disc" from a ranch near Roswell, sparking intense media interest. Later the same day, the Commanding General of the Eighth Air Force stated that, in fact, a weather balloon had been recovered by RAAF personnel, rather than a "flying saucer."[1] A subsequent press conference was called, featuring debris said to be from the crashed object that seemed to confirm the weather balloon description. The case was quickly forgotten and almost completely ignored, even by UFO researchers, for more than 30 years. Then, in 1978, ufologist Stanton T. Friedman interviewed Major Jesse Marcel, who was involved with the original recovery of the debris in 1947. Marcel expressed his belief that the military had covered up the recovery of an alien spacecraft. His story circulated through UFO circles, being featured in some UFO documentaries at the time.[2] In February 1980, The National Enquirer ran its own interview with Marcel, garnering national and worldwide attention for the Roswell incident. Additional witnesses and reports emerged over the following years. They added significant new details, including claims of a large military operation dedicated to recovering alien craft and aliens themselves, at as many as 11 crash sites,[2] and alleged witness intimidation. In 1989, former mortician Glenn Dennis put forth a detailed personal account, wherein he claimed that alien autopsies were carried out at the Roswell base.[3] In response to these reports, and after congressional inquiries, the General Accounting Office launched an inquiry and directed the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force to conduct an internal investigation. The result was summarized in two reports. The first, released in 1995, concluded that the reported recovered material in 1947 was likely debris from a secret government program called Project Mogul, which involved high altitude balloons meant to detect sound waves generated by Soviet atomic bomb tests and ballistic missiles.[4] The second report, released in 1997, concluded that reports of recovered alien bodies were likely a combination of: innocently transformed memories of military accidents involving injured or killed personnel; innocently transformed memories of the recovery of anthropomorphic dummies in military programs like Project High Dive conducted in the 1950s; hoaxes perpetrated by various witnesses and UFO proponents. The psychological effects of time compression and confusion about when events occurred explained the discrepancy with the years in question. These reports were dismissed by UFO proponents as being either disinformation or simply implausible. However, significant numbers of UFO researchers discount the probability that the incident had anything to do with aliens.[5][6][7] Also, is it so far fetched to believe that it could be possible that God, our creator, would have not populated another of his planets as he did ours?Just something to think about..............

When I look up at the infinite number of stars in the sky in the night, which I do often since I moved out of the light-polluted Warsaw, I often think it would be very uneconomical to create such a variety for just one tiny place with self-aware creatures as we are on our Earth. And then I think: even if there are lots of other civilizations out there, I (we) cannot know it just yet. And there are so many untrue stories on the matter, a lot of people who spoil the reputation of the problem between those few probably true ones, that I will better not pay attention to the whole matter.... ;D

I still don't believe it, you can't keep a secret from the Press, here.
What proof does anyone have that this is true?
Some people don't think, we did not go to the moon either.

Mike Mike, My purpose was not to prove or disprove aliens or UFOs. In the original post it states that an astronaut is calling on the US government to release all their reports about sightings. I am sure some are hoaxes, but also many cannot yet be disproved. I look at it this way: I believe in GOD. I can't see him, hear him, and have no proof that he is real. Yet I believe. I believe GOD is our creator, and why could he not be the creator of others on another of his planets? I choose to keep an open mind and wait to see if the scientists and others can prove there is life on other planets, or not. It certainly does make us think, doesn't it?

Jeanne ;D ;D ;D Being a Varsovian is a full-life job ;D ;D ;D Besides, to tell the truth when I turn my head towards the city at night I can't see the stars and those planets inhabitated by the Alliens. Just a huge light glow of a city, it never let's me forget about itself ;D

One Polish village is proud of being a UFO landing site. Ther eis even a monument to it. Emilcin UFO memorial is a memorial built in 2005 in Emilcin, Poland which commemorates a supposed alien abduction at the site, which is said to have taken place there on May 10, 1978. The abductee, Jan Wolski, said he was abducted by Greys in a UFO looking like a flying caravan. It is one of the most famous cases of supposed alien abduction in Poland; it was especially famous in the late 80's. There were a few television programs on Polish TV about the case. In addition, a book was written and comics were created.www.tvn24.pl/26086,1599494,,,swietowali-rocznice-ladowania-ufo,wiadomosc.html A documentary about the landing www.casttv.com/video/320s4a/emilcin-15-lat-pniej-video Another incident very different from the modern standard abduction took place in Emilcin, Poland, on 10 May 1978. A 71-year-old farmer, Jan Wolski, was travelling on a horse-drawn wagon along a country road when he encountered 2 'freaks', as he called them. They had greenish faces, wore one-piece overalls ending in some kind of foot flipper, and walked by making supple jumps like divers on the seabed. Suddenly they got into his wagon on either side of him, but Wolski continued on his journey without saying anything. He thought they must be 'foreigners', since they had slanted eyes, prominent cheekbones, and spoke in an unknown language.
A short while later they came across a strange vehicle in a clearing, looking like 'a bus hovering in the air'. The humanoids signalled to Wolski to step onto a platform that was lowered from the object. He did so, then rose up into a dark rectangular room where he met 2 more 'foreigners' who told him to remove his clothes. After a brief examination with 'two plates', he was told to get dressed. He galloped all the way home, then returned with his sons, and they found a series of trapezoidal, almost rectangular footprints. A 6-year-old boy who lived nearby said he had seen an aircraft resembling a bus fly very low over a barn, then climb vertically into the air and vanish. This incident is regarded as a benchmark abduction account, with little or no contamination from the outside world and none of the media exposure that characterizes American abduction stories [8]. ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/dp5/ufo4.htmThe craft encountered by Wolski, May 1978 (courtesy of Harry Trumbore) [10]. Not recommended for interstellar travel!
