Father protest for equal rights
25.03.2010 07:01
A group of men from the Father’s Right’s Defence Movement picketed in front of courts in Lodz, central Poland, Wednesday, demanding equal treatment in family courts.
The fathers carried signs with slogans such as, “Courts, give us back our children” and “Stop state violence, our kids are ours”.
The protest was prompted by the case of Mateusz, a nine-year-old boy whose father has accused his mother of kidnapping him and taking him to Denmark.
Andrzej Slonawski, of the ‘Porozumienie Rawskie,’ organization says that the group demands Polish courts raise their standards to European levels and treat both mothers and fathers with equal legal status.
“Polish courts rule on the assumption that the best father is always worse than the worst mother,” claims Slonawski.
The picketing fathers stand solidly against changes proposed to family law, set to go into effect in June, to put the mother as the main ‘caretaker’ of children in the family.
Only five percent of fathers in Poland are granted the right to care for their child.
Similar demonstrations have been held before family courts in Lublin, Wroclaw, Czestochowa, Warsaw, Szczecin, Milicz, Olsztyn, Elblag, Gdansk, Gdynia and Zakopane. (mmj/pg)

* Luke Elliot 25.03.2010 11:36 This really is an important issue. Whereas nine times out of ten it is the mother who should get custody of the kids, it definitely should not be a given that she does. Often these kids become pawns in a game of revenge against their fathers. I know of a court in the US that granted custody to the mother despite being presented with evidence that she was incapable of properly caring for the child. Their reasoning was that because the father was a big, masculine construction worker, he wouldn't be able to raise his daughter properly. It was not until this 3-year-old child nearly died as a result of her mother's neglect that the father was granted sole custody of his daughter. Luke Elliot

Now I won't lie that I don't have the stereotype that women will do a better job at raising kids (because in general personally I think its true) but anyways my stereo type could be wrong or it could be right (in general) but when allowing the facts to speak for themselves my stereotype doesn't really matter. * Jeff 04.04.2010 01:45 First of all, ladies who know they get anything they want in court easily decide to get a divorce rather than work harder to improve the marriage.
Second, Economic culture has men and ladies competing for jobs and this sets up competition in the home, where we should be more of a team.
Third, Equal time, 2 weeks with mom then 2 weeks with dad. It helps if parents live in the same town so the children attend the same school.
Fourth, Government responsibility can extend to requiring 6 months marriage counseling before granting a divorce, providing parenting classes teaching how to maintain a marriage and be a great parent. Also providing free parent child events at least once a month specifically Father and child one weekend then Mother and child another weekend. The events would include a wide range of subjects like playing sports basics, learning about computers, playing computer games and learning electronics.

Grandmothers have long told their daughters, there are 3 kinds of men.
Quote:
Money men. Men very good at making money.
Funny men. Men that make you laugh.
Honey men. Men that are very romantic and make you feel loved.
Finding a man with one of these qualities is very easy.
Finding a man with two of these qualities is more difficult.
Finding a man with three of these qualities is a miracle.
End Quote.
If we follow modern times we need to add Handy man, A man who is good at fixing things. Marco Andrionni
* Henri 04.04.2010 18:06 French Complements
Men need to complement their wives more often. If you want to learn the finesse of a smooth talking French man then develop a repertoire of complements.
Degree of complements.
Safe zone. Nice shoes / boots you are wearing. This is obviously a complement from a distance.
Professional zone. Nice shirt you are wearing. Shows she has good taste in clothing.
Personal zone. That shirt looks good on you. This says She looks good.
Hot zone. You look good in that shirt. This says She looks great in anything.
Steamy zone. Is it hot in here or is it just you? This says She is so hot it gets steamy where ever she is located.
Creative zone. You are beautiful and Brainifull. A Clever, Cover girl. This says she is both attractive and smart which appeals to all modern ladies.
French men see complements on a balancing scale over time. The weight of your complements must always outweigh the bad things you say or the wife will look elsewhere for complements. The misconception that men have is about perfection. The French have learned Ladies recognize all complements. Perfection not required. Henri
