Sometimes I am lost. After a year, my mobile phone`s battery nearly died (one day work after charging) so I went to a corner electronic shop and asked for a new one. Of course, they had it. I paid 30 zlotys/ 10 dollars. Imagine my surprise when the phone went out again after one day. I looked closely at the new and the old battery and discovered they differed in power capacity: the new one was nearly half less durable than the old one.
My fault - I didn`t know I should have asked for the battery with the same power capacity to suit my phone. Stupid me.
What did I do next?

You didn't specify if it was a phone shop or just a general electronics shop. Either way, If you go to a shop that specializes in something like electronic devices I would expect a competent seller to provide me with the component of the same capacity. The reason for seeking the help of a specialist is you assume they know more about something than you do. Any competent seller would have explained the difference and let you make the decision. The only way for this to be your fault would be if the seller offered you a selection of battery capacities and you chose based solely on price. Battery capacity is rated in ma/h. milliamp hours. 100ma/h is twice as much as 50ma/h, etc. I won't bore you with the number of electrons your battery can hold because I know you hate the math(s). But if I did, it would be in Coulombs, which is 6.25x10 18electrons.

The store was mixed phone and electronics. Yes, true. I also expected competent service. But I knew there are various types of batteries to a plethora of phones so I was happy to find out they had a battery that suited my phone. And they were happy to sell me that battery without going into details. Now it is too late to return it, I lost the receipt. But I will be careful next time. For the time being, I am using my son`s phone battery. He doesn`t need his phone so often!
