Performed by the norwegian-jewish singer and actress Bente Kahan. She was brought up in Yiddish tradition. The song is written by the late poet Mordechaj Gebirtig, who was killed by the German nazis in the Cracow ghetto in 1942. Kinder-johren (childhood)About the poets childhood and youth in his little town Kazimierz ( the jewish district of Krakow). More information about the song and the poet is in the video. I love it, happy, together , and sharing wonderful moments. Sometimes I wonder if I am the only crazy person. I like to play piano and violin. In my youth I also played accordion and flute.
