These photos are amazing. Every one of them has an element of such beauty that one wants to be in them, or at least hold onto them! Who could not want to visit Poland after seeing these!

Yeah, some of them are great. I makes me think back about April 2004, when I was in Krakow for a week. What a wonderful week it was.

Quiz about Krakow - do you know the names of these streets in the Old Town? www.gazetakrakowska.pl/quiz/pytanie/1,3431,nie_znasz_tych_ulic_w_krakowie_jestes_sloikiem_fotoquiz,n,q,t.html My result: 21 / 25Doskonale! Niewiele osób osiągnęło tak dobry wynik jak Ty. Jesteśmy pod wrażeniem – chylimy czoła! Czy w innych quizach poradzisz sobie równie doskonale? www.gazetakrakowska.pl/quiz/wynik/3431,nie_znasz_tych_ulic_w_krakowie_jestes_sloikiem_fotoquiz,5cd5f74df9e361998eedae65fca8c4ed,q,t,w.html I messed up a few names.

Something that strikes me about these photos is that there is no LITTER! Cities in the U.S. have a ton of litter laying around. How do they regulate people's littering in Krakow?

That`s interesting, yes, there is no litter except the second photo, I can see a plastic bottle and two wrapping papers on the sidewalk. Three possible explanations: Poles prefer to use bins if they are available in the area. Municipal cleaning services are efficient. The photos were taken very early in the morning, you can see hardly any traffic in these streets.

Perhaps cleaning crews work at night street-sweeping?

Perhaps cleaning crews work at night street-sweeping? I suppose they roam the streets and terminate all litter they can spot. After all, this is the poshest part of Krakow visited by crowds of tourists 24/7.

Oh, that explains it! They do the same in U.S. cities...tourists will return if the cities are clean! The problem is that it is them who litter the most. They think they can do anything if they pay. Summer bums, that`s what they are.

Summer bums, that`s what they are. Hahaha! True! But I also think there are native residents who don't care about trashing their own city. Human nature...you know!
