Many of them in Poland. This series shows hotels in Wrocław region in Lower Silesia, most built in 19 century, but also earlier.
You can find their names and more info on this site (also in photos). Prices range from 25 to 1000 euros per night.

I love to see old run-down buildings being renovated! They are part of history and the culture...it's great that they can be preserved (and also bring the owners/preservers some money)!

What a wonderful hotels and castles. Love the layers of architecture, nature, interiors and the old fashionate Polish European atmosphere in it. Aristocratic grandeur, the atmosphere of the life families, generations of people, that lived in these places. Polish nobility, servants, maids, farmers (peasents), butlers, priests, students and the builders.

Yes, cultural heritage must be preserved, no matter where it comes from. Pete, those castles are located in Lower Silesia which belonged to Germans for 200 years or even more.

Is it horrendously expensive then? Besides, it's a bucket list, doesn't mean I'll get to do everything on it, but I like to dream and aim high

Well, with a strong pound, it isn`t.

Actually, it's not as expensive as I thought it would be, although it probably varies from castle to castle. Just looked at Moszna Castle pricing for overnight with breakfast, gym and sauna, from 100 PLN upwards depending on room and number of people.

Good. I was probably looking at royal/ducal apartments.

I think they lowered their prices during the pandemic. Or at least they stayed the same.

A local farmer in Lubiechowa bought and renovated an ex German palace. He was going to make a hotel there but now......
