A 19th century villa is for sale. Price - 1 zloty. 0,33 cents! A steel plant decided to get rid of the building. They don`t have funds to restore it. Drawbacks - a very poor shape. Pros - centrally located, spacious. Name - Villa Matilda. Address- Wałbrzych, Silesia region.

many have unclear ownership status It is a shame as it would be lovely to see these buildings restored to their former glory, but potential investors would be mad to take something like this on, when in years to come, someone may lay claim to the building. No-one is going to spend money when ownership cannot be proven.

No-one is going to spend money when ownership cannot be proven. Communists made a mess with it coz they took over properties after the war but ignored putting it in legal documents as they believed they would rule for ever. So, today, the property belongs to the state but only in theory coz a legal owner or their family may prove their rights to it. I have nothing against but it works against potential investors who might prevent buildings from becoming decrepit with time.
