The situation is worrying. Local councils are closing or declaring to close down ineffective schools of all types in their areas, in big cities and the countryside. Everywhere.
For them ineffective means there are too few pupils and too many teachers. Teachers are going to be laid off massively - the process has already started.
In our school redundancies have been announced, too. Due to demographics, we lost one class of students in 2011 and the statistics are alarming for the next few years. Simply speaking, it will be even worse.
Some teachers are going to be forced to retire because they have already reached the legal retirement requirements.
Others will see their full-time jobs turn into part-time.
Parents are mad because smaller schools are better and safer than "educational plants" planned by authorities.
What makes it even worse in high school level is the introduction of a new curriculum which will reduce the amount of classes for certain subjects, e.g., IT, biology, chemistry, geography.
