Let`s start a thread which might function successfully or even thrive for 4 years, the period when the current government is expected to remain in power. Warsaw wants explanation over German carnival caricature 10.02.2016 12:30 Warsaw wants an explanation from Berlin after a caricature of the leader of Poland’s ruling Law and Justice (PiS) party paraded through the streets during a carnival in the western German city of Dusseldorf.
Polish Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski told public broadcaster Polish Radio: "We will diplomatically draw attention to and ask our partners in Germany about the purpose of such antics."
Warsaw has objected to a float that depicted PiS leader Jarosław Kaczyński in a general's uniform, with his boot on the head of a kneeling woman, with a sign on the woman saying "Poland".
Waszczykowski said Poland would approach the issue in a "balanced" and "delicate" manner because it did not want to undermine artistic expression and freedom of speech.
Huge figures depicting politicians and prominent personalities are a feature of the annual Dusseldorf parade. - See more at: www.thenews.pl/1/10/Artykul/240143,Warsaw-wants-explanation-over-German-carnival-caricature#sthash.zal6HNya.dpufPS. One good thing about those guys is the fact that life under their rule will; never be predictable and as such, boring. Boredom is the first step which leads to depression and other serious mental disorders.

Wow, I have just started a new thread and here is the next piece of news. Did I already say something about thriving ? Polish Foreign Ministry lodges BBC complaint 10.02.2016 18:11 The Polish Foreign Ministry has lodged a formal complaint over a recent Newsnight segment which criticised the government.
In a letter to the controller of BBC Two and BBC Four, Kim Shillinglaw, Polish foreign ministry spokesman Artur Dmochowski wrote that “the report ‘Is Poland being Putinised?’ presented the current political situation in Poland in a superficial and distorted manner, far from the journalistic merits expected from the BBC and in apparent contradiction to some of the broadcaster’s own editorial guidelines.”
Among the issues raised was the fact that Maya Rostowski was appointed to take part in the production of a news item. This fact raised “deep concerns” about Newsnight’s impartiality “as delineated in the BBC Editorial Guidelines, Section 15”.
“Ms Rostowski is a daughter of former Polish Finance Minister and Deputy Prime Minister, Jan Vincent Rostowski, a high ranked Civil Platform politician and fierce opponent of Law and Justice,” the letter explained.
The Ministry also found faults with the reporting that the S&P rating agency downgraded Poland’s credit rating, which the Newsnight explained was because “Law and Justice has weakened the key institutions”, quoting an S&P report.
“The S&P decision to downgrade the rating of Poland has been widely commented and often criticised as economically ungrounded as GDP projections have not deviated materially since the election, the economy has not shown signs of deterioration, the inflation is trending modestly upward, etc,” Dmochowski’s letter read.
The BBC did not immediately issue a response. - See more at: www.thenews.pl/1/10/Artykul/240234,Polish-Foreign-Ministry-lodges-BBC-complaint#sthash.XhbqolSl.dpuf

Dear Bonobo,
I just read an interesting sentence on the other Forum by Jaga, this is the sentence:
" I just read Polish official news and they sound a bit like news from the time of Soviet-influenced Poland."
Do you agree with her?
Cheers, Pieter

Do you agree with her? Cheers, Pieter First, do you mean reading press or watching TV news? I read independent papers online but don`t watch state TV which is controlled and censored by current government. I read about cases of censorship, manipulation and political propaganda which take place especially on the evening news.
