Equality march in Gdańsk was attacked by radical right wingers and nationalists. The police had to intervene. Counterdemonstrators disrupt Equality March in Gdańsk 22.05.2016 11:46 Clashes between nationalist groups and the police erupted during a march supporting the LGBT community in the coastal city of Gdańsk on Saturday. Up to 800 people took part in the annual Equality March calling for LGBT rights. Shortly after the demonstrators set off from the Targ Węglowy square, a group of some 150 individuals, brought together under a coinciding Equality Antimarch, attempted to block the protesters. The face-off turned violent once the counterdemonstrators hurled bottles and stones at the police who sought to cordon off the violent groups. Earlier, the 200-strong Equality Antimarch, which included members of a local branch of the far-right National Radical Camp (ONR) and football fans, dispersed into smaller groups, some of which gathered along the planned route of the LGBT demonstration. Five people were arrested in the clashes, among them a daughter of a local Law and Justice councillor, Anna Kołakowska.- See more at: www.thenews.pl/1/9/Artykul/253846,Counterdemonstrators-disrupt-Equality-March-in-Gdansk#sthash.TsQIVr0O.dpuf
