Since 2010 when the President plane crashed in Russia, the wreck has been kept by Russians.
The previous PO government was heavily criticised by PiS for being unable to retrieve the wreck. One of PiS` promises was getting it back.
Today PiS government haven`t achieved anything, either, and even express surprise that Russians aren`t willing to return it. What morons!
It is natural that Russians won`t give it back as long as PiS claims the crash was a result of mutiny and the President was assassinated by his Polish political opponents who cooperated with Russians. Russians probably suspect that the PiS-controlled group of aviation "specialists" may plant some traces of explosives onto the wreck in order to have a proof of assassination.
This nonsence about assassination gave rise to so called new "Smoleńsk religion" which I will describe in another thread.
Polish President Andrzej Duda has asked why the wreckage of the presidential plane, which crashed in western Russia in 2010, has not yet been returned to Poland.
“Under normal circumstances, someone who has nothing to hide would return the property of another country,” Duda said on Friday.
“I'm surprised that Russia does not want to give Poland the wreckage back. The fact that they do not want to give up the wreckage raises all sorts of speculation,” the president said.
Despite the crash happening on 10 April 2010, none of the wreckage of the Russian-made Tupolev plane has been returned to Poland.
“Poland purchased the plane. The wreckage is our property. There is the fundamental question of why Russia does not want to return our property,” Duda said.
The plane crash in Smolensk, western Russia, saw the death of 96 people, including then-President Lech Kaczyński and top military and government officials.
Poland's governing Law and Justice (PiS) party has set up a new commission to probe the crash. In its first press conference on Thursday, the commission outlined a number of shortcomings in reports by Russian authorities and the previous Polish government.
