Generally, Polish food producers satisfy all my needs. However, there are certain imported foods which add spice to my eating. One of them is Garlic Pickle by Patak`s, based on Indian recipe, with whole cloves mixed with Asian spices. Not many shops offer it here and there are intervals in its import that is why I always buy 3-4 jars just in case. I use it not only on my seafood with rice but also in sandwiches.

But it is medium hot, in fact. The only problem is its strong aroma, which might put people off, that is why I always carry a toothbrush with me and use it after I eat a garlic sandwich for school lunch.

The Polish Baltic Sea offers some nice seafood (cod, flounder, smoked sprats) but import is more important. Salmon from Norway, mussels from Chile, shrimp from Thailand, fish roe from Germany(Russia originally), octopus from Portugal, mackerel, tuna, shark.... from I don`t know who - maybe Polish fishing fleet - etc etc.
