I hope Europe is ready to handle the influx of celebrity refugees. They will not be missed here.

I hope so, a lot of promises must be fullfilled.
Democracy has worked and Trump won according to the American democratic election system with the electors of the Electoral College. Clinton-Trump was actually 50-50. Clinton had more votes, but Trump gained more states and more electors so he won. That's they way it goes in the USA.
Let's hope that both Trumps and Clintons econciling tone is real and frank and that the Americans unite and work for a better America, a better future for their kids, better care for the veterans and more employment for the Americans.
The Democrats will lick their wounds and will focus on the next elections over 4 year. They could continue Clinton's campaign organisation and focus on another candidate, for instance Michelle Obama.
I wonder what Trump will do. He will use his business skills, his business instinct, his network, people who lead the infrastructural plans, people who will have to revitalize the economy (the departments of economy and finances), he will negotiate new trade deals and replace old ones and he wants to reach out to other nations.
He want to be a president for all Americans, also the Democrats, Republicans and Independent voters. Now he will enter the White House the presidency, the congress, capitol Hill and the senators of the states will change him. He will meet new people, experience new things and learn. I am not a Trump supporter or fan, but I am just curious like many Americans and other Europeans what will happen.
Will Onbama inform him well and introduce him in this job and task? I hope so and that party- and personal anomosity, hatred and revenge wiil be left out of the proces.
I wish Trump the best in his task.
Cheers, Pieter

President Obama has already called and invited Donald Trump to the White House for a meeting tomorrow (Thursday November 10th)to discuss the transition. He has also said that a smooth and efficient transfer of power is a hallmark of our democracy. So, we shall see! Speeches on both sides, both Democratic and Republican parties, were all sounding very conciliatory today...again, we shall see! p.s. Pieter, I heard Geert Wilders on the radio today saying how delighted he is with the outcome of the U.S. election...

If you are speaking of Whoopie Goldberg in "Sister Act," no, I did not see that movie because she is one of my least favorite actresses. Plus I do not appreciate humor that subtly ridicules aspects of the Catholic faith. You posted another thread about political correctness...well, the Catholic Church is the last institution that it's okay to "attack" (ridicule, joke about, etc.) in the U.S.; PC does not apply here when speaking of the Catholic Church...

I didn`t see that film ,either. But I remember another sister act from the French comedy series about the gendarme which I loved as a boy. That nun is a bit crazy, especially when driving, but so funny.
