Too bad...I think it's a shame to let historical buildings like this rot away...

Too bad...I think it's a shame to let historical buildings like this rot away... Average private owners don`t have money for renovation. They even don`t have money for maintenance unless they become businessmen who open a hotel or conference centre etc. The state isn`t going to pay for it, either. SO, they must rot and they do all over Europe. Derelict castles, abandoned mansions, ruined palaces for sale - there are hundreds ads on the NEt.

I read once that a desperate owner is ready to sell his ruined castle for 1 euro on condition that a new owner will renovate the site.
