Whenever we run into one in our textbooks, I ask my students to draw a big exclamation mark and write: Beware! Trap word! False friend.
I suppose you won`t have any problems guessing the English trap word which looks so similar to the Polish one.

P-r-o-b-a-b-l-y your infection is due to lack of sleep which lowered your immunity, not less time under your garlic shield. You actually taught me a new English word...I had to look up the meaning of catarrh; I had never seen that before! Isn't that part of the learning process? But we are talking about their first impressions. What I teach them takes place later on. |
