Tonight the fireworks can be heard in the city. There was an annual Dragon Parade. We seldom go because I work on Saturdays.
The 9th Great Dragons’ Parade
Nine years ago, the Groteska Theatre in Kraków initiated the Great Dragons’ Parade which has been organised every year since then. It is an open-air festival of international renown with a wide media coverage and publicity, and an audience of several thousands spectators each year. Over a thousand children operating the dragons they constructed themselves come from all over Poland to take part in the parade. A colourful procession of dragons walks the streets of Kraków, accompanied by dancers, music bands, knights and princesses, stilt-walkers, jugglers and many other artists.
The culmination of the event is the Grand Outdoor Show on the Vistula with music, laser lights, colourful smokes, fireworks, and gigantic inflated dragons dancing over the river. A breathtaking experience for residents and tourists who come from all over the world to take part in the event.
