PiS government considers it their great success. Anti PiS media claim Trump agreed to come to Poland after being reassured by Polish Foreign Minister about Polish citizens` eager enthusiasm to see the US President. Trump has fallen for that but he might be disappointed, suggest the media. Regional summit moved to Warsaw as Trump visit planned: Polish president 13.06.2017 14:41 A July regional summit in Poland which is to be attended by Donald Trump has been moved to Warsaw for security and logistic reasons, Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Tuesday.
"The original plan was that the summit would take place in Wrocław” in south-west Poland, Duda said after talks in Zagreb with Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović.
“But due to the fact that circumstances have changed, we are forced to move this summit of Three Seas countries to Warsaw for logistic and security reasons," he added.
The White House announced last week that Trump “will attend the Three Seas Initiative Summit to demonstrate our strong ties to Central Europe.”
The White House added that after an invitation by Duda, Trump would travel to Poland ahead of a summit of G20 leaders in Hamburg, Germany, which takes place on 7-8 July.
The Three Seas summit will be jointly hosted by Poland and Croatia. The Three Seas Initiative aims to boost cooperation among countries between the Black, Baltic and Adriatic Seas.
The presidents of 12 countries in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans will come to the Polish capital to discuss joint economic and infrastructure projects.
Officials representing the Polish government and Duda have been lobbying to get Trump to visit Poland since the US presidential election in November.

This should be interesting! I can't wait to see how this meeting goes! Knowing PiS, they are ready to fulfill their promise even if they will have to hire supporters and bring them to meeting places in buses. So President Trump visited Poland and PiS indeed brought its supporters to the main rally. He poured honey on Polish patriotic hearts who had longed for US sympathy so long. PiS leaders are making huge propaganda out of the visit, claiming it proves the importance of Poland. US president praises Poland as ‘example for others who seek freedom’ 06.07.2017 14:36 US President Donald Trump on Thursday praised Poland as an “example for others who seek freedom.” Donald Trump delivers a speech in Warsaw. Photo: PAP/Paweł Supernak In a speech in Warsaw full of detailed references to Poland’s often turbulent history, and which also referred to the contemporary fight against terrorism, Trump said: “I am here today not just to visit an old ally but to hold it up as an example for others who seek freedom and who wish to summon the courage and the will to defend our civilisation.” In a rousing address interrupted by cheers from thousands of listeners, Trump added: “The triumph of the Polish spirit over centuries of hardship gives us all hope for a future in which good conquers evil and peace achieves victory over war.” He added: “The story of Poland is the story of a people who have never lost hope, who have never been broken and who have never, ever forgotten who they are.” Trump delivered his address by a monument in central Warsaw to Poles who fought in the bloody 1944 Warsaw Uprising against Nazi German occupation. Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło said Trump’s speech “proves that Poland is an important country, Poland is a country to be reckoned with.” Polish Defence Minister Antoni Macierewicz summed up Trump’s visit to Warsaw by saying: “This is a remarkable day for Poland and for all of Europe, a beautiful day, a great day, a day on which the Polish-American alliance has been strengthened as never before in the last 200 years.” Earlier on Thursday, Trump held face-to-face talks with Polish President Andrzej Duda. After concluding his visit to Warsaw, which started on Wednesday evening, Trump headed off to Germany for a G20 summit.

It seems President Trump likes meeting guys who ostentatiously look up to him. Then he can say anything to please them. Trump in Warsaw: US has never been closer to Poland 06.07.2017 11:18 US President Donald Trump said during a visit to Warsaw on Thursday that America has “never been closer to Poland”. Photo: PAP/Radek Pietruszka His comments came after face-to-face security and trade talks with Polish President Andrzej Duda. Trump said: “The president and I concluded a productive meeting in which we reaffirmed our enduring bonds of friendship [which] have united our citizens for a long time. We’ve never been closer to Poland, I think, than we are right now.” Strong ties Duda said Trump’s visit underlined the strength of ties between Poland and the United States. Duda said: "I am extremely pleased with this visit to Warsaw, which is one of the first international visits by the president, because it highlights our ties and the high quality of the alliance between Poland and the United States." He added: "It also demonstrates that we are and both consider ourselves to be loyal partners, as those who work together on many levels” including in NATO. US troops in Poland Polish politicians have been hoping for a Trump commitment to the long-term deployment of US troops in Poland, which is worried about regional security following the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014. Trump told reporters: “Poland’s been right there with us, training Iraqi special forces and flying reconnaissance missions, and just about any time we requested they were there." He added: “Brave Polish soldiers have fought and worked side by side in Iraq and Afghanistan and on behalf of all Americans I want to solute you, I want to thank you.” Duda said that in talks with Trump the leaders had reached a preliminary agreement that the Polish president would visit the United States next year. After meeting Duda, the US president spoke to 12 Central European, Baltic, and Western Balkan leaders at a Three Seas Conference in Warsaw. The Three Seas initiative aims to boost cooperation among countries between the Black, Baltic and Adriatic Seas. Trump also delivered an address at a monument to Poles who fought in the 1944 Warsaw Uprising against Nazi German occupation.

She laid a wreath at the Ghetto Heroes Monument located at the site of several clashes between German forces and Jewish partisans during World War II. Ivanka Trump later visited the nearby Polin Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump was slammed by the leaders of the Jewish community in Poland for failing to attend the monument himself during his 16-hour trip to Warsaw, which started late on Wednesday night. “Since the fall of communism in 1989 all American presidents and vice presidents visiting Warsaw have always visited the Ghetto Heroes Monument,” the leaders of the Jewish community said in a statement. “We deeply regret that President Donald Trump … considered it appropriate to break with that worthy tradition. We hope this snub does not express the attitudes and feelings of the American people,” they added. (vb/pk)

Blunders When Trump mentioned Lech Wałęsa or the opposition leaders appeared at the site, the PiS crowd whistled and booed. US President ignored good manners and gave a speech with the unbuttoned jacket. US President expected to be greeted by the Polish First Lady as first but she decided to greet the US First Lady instead. Mr Trump was visibly surprised. Hard to say if it was a planned demonstration or just diplomatic etiquette.

Bonobo, Thanks for posting all these photos and your comments...this is actually the best coverage I have seen of Trump's visit to Poland! Could it be the liberal U.S. press is ignoring it because it appeared the Poles were very happy with his visit??? I'm glad that Poland is finally feeling like they are getting some recognition from an American leader...it is about time. I only hope they do not become disillusioned with Mr. Trump as time goes by. I imagine the Polish women approved of Melania...she's almost as stylish as they are...but not quite!

I only hope they do not become disillusioned with Mr. Trump as time goes by. 3 I imagine the Polish women approved of Melania...she's almost as stylish as they are...but not quite! 1 Poles who were brought by PiS to the rally were certainly happy. I am not sure about other Poles. 2 Again, it is not all Poland that enjoys being visited by US leader. I can quote many articles entitled: Why is Trump`s visit insignificant? 3 I am sorry but I know nothing about Polish women`s opinion about Melania.

Truthfully, the Inauguration Day press coverage was the first time I got to see Trump in action other than just giving angry speeches. I knew nothing about Melania at the time, but I thought she looked lovely in that powder-blue outfit, so the memory stayed with me. I kind of wished I had that outfit...blue is my favorite color...
