At last! Freedom. Not fully yet because there is still one conference next week, I have to print two documents but easy ones. But I don`t enjoy it because I know it is going to finish sooner than later. That's great...happy summer! By the way, what ever happened with the teachers' strike? Were any issues resolved? Perhaps you wrote about it in another thread, but if so, I missed it!

I managed to reach Christmas time in quite a good shape. I remember being very tired last year. Now, I feel OK and could go on for another month. That`s probably due to my improved sleep discipline - I go to sleep earlier and try to stop thinking in bed.

Bonobo,
I bet you will be happy when this crazy school year is over! Let's hope things return to normal for the next school year beginning in September!

Bonobo, I bet you will be happy when this crazy school year is over! Let's hope things return to normal for the next school year beginning in September! I am a pessimist about coming back to real schools in September. The infection rate is still high and refuses to drop. Even if we return for a while, the quarantine will be brought back sooner or later in autumn. That is why I have done sth completely new - I told my students to get their books for the new school year on their own. Usually, I collected orders in September and got the books for willing students from a representative with a 20% discount. It matters when some books (SB and WB) cost about 40$. But it always took a lot of time and for the first 3 weeks of September we didn`t have any books. Now, I changed it coz I don`t want to waste time - students are supposed to have their books on the very first lesson.

Wow...now I know why the school systems in the U.S. are in trouble financially...the schools always provide the books for students. The guideline for public school here is "free, accessible, and equitable," so books are provided, or it wouldn't be a free education!

Most primary schools offer free books, they belong to the school library and have to be returned before vacation. In high schools it is different and students get their own books.

So, here we are in September...what is going on with school...are you proceeding as usual, or have changes been made to keep everyone safe from spreading/catching the virus??

7.5 till summer holidays. Today only 5 months are left. But the most exhausting time is still ahead - now we are enjoying fortnight winter break. February and then March are devoid of any breaks. Not even one day until Easter in mid April. I am doing double full time in my school and after school work too. I need to get a grip, clench my teeth, pull my socks up and survive. Again, like so many times in previous years. I managed to reach Christmas time in quite a good shape. I remember being very tired last year. Now, I feel OK and could go on for another month. That`s probably due to my improved sleep discipline - I go to sleep earlier and try to stop thinking in bed. I still try to stick to that resolution not to think too much or talk to myself while in bed. hahaha what is going on with school...are you proceeding as usual, or have changes been made to keep everyone safe from spreading/catching the virus?? Since Sep 2021, in our school only particular class units were sent home for quarantine when a student was tested positive. Never was the whole school suspended.
